You think the worst of all
    Is far behind
The Vampyre of time and memories, has died
    I've survived, I speak, I breathe. I'm incomplete
I'm alive, hurray, you're wrong again cause I feel no love
Does anyone ever get this right?

So this album turned out to be the soundtrack of my relationship with my wife. Unfortunately we went through some really rough times over the last couple months and the feel of this album just fit perfectly. Luckily we've worked things out and I still love the album, but I'll always associate with that now. The line, Does anyone ever get this right? gets me every time.

Ok, Queens fans, list your top 3 songs from each album...

This album is taking my fandom to new heights. Always liked them, but now am paying more attention.

Never really listened to their first one, lullabies, or era vulgaris and am curious what folks think of those records...

S/T: The Bronze, Mexicola, You can't quit me baby
Rated R: Feel Good Hit of The Summer, Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret, In The Fade
Songs for the Deaf: No One Knows, Hangin' Tree, Go with the Flow
Lullabies to Paralyze: Everybody Knows That You Are Insane, In My Head, Long Slow Goodbye
Era Vulgaris: 3's & 7's, Sick, Sick, Sick, Into the Hollow
...Like Clockwork: I Appear Missing, Fairweather Friends, The Vampyre Of Time And Memory
Let's say knowledge is a tree, yeah.
It's growing up just like me.

The new album is fantastic! It grabbed me from the start and is my favorite QOTSA. Josh seems to appreciate that less can sometimes be more from a sound standpoint. Reminds of a quote I read somewhere a long time ago that said the best musicians know when NOT to play a note.

I'm pretty late to the table with this album, but DAMN this is good. I hope 'Lightning Bolt' will be as good as this.

    it wont be. 8-)

You've got that right. "Lightening Bolt" will be great but "...Like Clockwork" is just phenomenal. I don't think PJ has another phenomenal album in them. It will definitely be better than 98% of the albums to come out this year and will be miles better than Backspacer.

I think the new Arctic Monkeys will be battling PJ out for the number 2 spot this year.

Love Like Clockwork. Took me a few listens but it is fuckin great once I got it. I had a near death experience like JHO so I Appear Missing really hit home for me.

    Cool clip

Here's another one, from that super cool show in a salt mine in Germany a couple of years back. If I would have known then ... It was so close to where I was living!

Sometimes I wish PJ would be as adventurous, but I guess they are just too big for that kind of stuff ...

Even though the clip looks like it was an amazing show, and as if a dvd would soon follow, nothing seems to have come out of this, sadly :(

And to all the people who are just getting into them - check out their MTV unplugged thingy as well!
    Ahh, I love them ...

Saw them at the Gibson in Los Angeles last night. Amazing show. I think I can safely say, I'm a fan now. Will fill in the albums I don't own soon. I really love the new album and it plays great live. Josh Homme is a musical powerhouse. He's also got some moves... like Jagger :D . It's a cool feeling to go to a show where the music is a direct reflection of your inner world. Last night was pure noise, alarms, and sirens. I loved it.

It really does. Great intimate venue. That wide expanse of seating is so great. This picture makes this venue look massive, but honestly any seat feels close.

Incredible show Saturday night at Gibson. It was my 10th time seeing Queens but the first time I've been right up front. After being out of town back in May and missing the Wiltern show, being on the rail more than made up for it. :D New stuff sounded great and the band was incredibly tight. Hope they do another leg of shows in the new year.

I am really bummed out that they didn't do a normal show in Vancouver. :( They just played the Squamish festival, and that is just .... no.

Based on what seats I can still get, there ain't going to be many people at the Cincinnati show. The pit literally had tickets for a month after they went on sale, and now you can still get seats 20 rows back in the first section. I just hope it doesn't get cancelled because of the lack of sales.
