Of course it's your business. It's your tax dollars that are paying for it. I'm not against anyone needing help. But with the country being as poor as it is, food stamps should be regulated. Getting just enough to divide it by 4 weeks and feed your family for the week on low costing groceries. That would also give people more incentive to get out there and make more money. Why go look for a job when you can eat steak and crab legs for free?
perhaps one meal (perhaps) of crab legs & steak is enough to piss ppl off?

They are regulated. One has a fixed amount to buy food. Not alcohol, not cigarettes - food. That's what this person was doing. Not a very balanced diet but if she prefers to buy steak instead of fresh fruit and veg for the same amount of money, it's her business -it's food.

Sad to say, we reward bad behavior in this country. We facilitate people's existence by paying them
not to work. The abuse of the system is rampant and becoming more and more blatant.

If I didn't have a mortgage, have to buy food or pay for insurance, all from my own pocket,
I could eat filet mignon every night too.

    Seems a bit counter productive.

    her disabled mother, yes/no?

Even if she is shopping for someone else should that person be able to eat better than me when I work 15 hours a day? Obviously if someone is buying crab legs with their foodstamps they are getting too much.

But please, keep defending your wel-fare president, it's quite entertaining :corn:

It must have been for a special occasion. One she probably couldn't afford otherwise.
Maybe she couldn't afford a gift,so a dinner is what she could supply. I'm sure it set her back

Wow. She paid for groceries with food stamps. Get a load of that. She's taking advantage of the system because she wants to eat. And then I can cast assumptions, judgment and full on hate when I know absolutely nothing about her. That - right there - says a lot about a person in itself. Those are the people I avoid when I go out in public because I'm disabled and I need to eat as well.

always a good idea to pass judgment when knowing virtually nothing about a situation, eh?

That's a good assumption. But thats exactly what it is. It's just as easy to assume she's ripping off the system as it is to think maybe it's legit because we don't know her and we shouldn't cast judgement. Regardless, we know it's a corrupt system and many people abuse it therefore hurting the entire country or maybe making it harder for people that really need it. I'll try to blame the system and not the abuser in this case.
