Wow. She paid for groceries with food stamps. Get a load of that. She's taking advantage of the system because she wants to eat. And then I can cast assumptions, judgment and full on hate when I know absolutely nothing about her. That - right there - says a lot about a person in itself. Those are the people I avoid when I go out in public because I'm disabled and I need to eat as well.

That's a good assumption. But thats exactly what it is. It's just as easy to assume she's ripping off the system as it is to think maybe it's legit because we don't know her and we shouldn't cast judgement. Regardless, we know it's a corrupt system and many people abuse it therefore hurting the entire country or maybe making it harder for people that really need it. I'll try to blame the system and not the abuser in this case.

The abusers are just as bad as the system.....I have witnessed food stamp abuse almost daily. A cashier at my store told me (she has been working there for about 4 years) that she has only had three people pay for live lobster with legal tender all others are paying with food stamps. Our manager making 80,000 a year was using food stamps till a cashier brought it to the attention of the higher ups.....the cashier was accused of racism (cashier is white) and then quit and the manager does not use food stamps any more.

Now if this women just got laid off I would think it is time to sell the car to get food to eat....sell her jewelry....take responsibility for her own welfare.......if she is shopping for her mom she should do the same thing and help her mom....
This lady shows no common sense.....how dare her use my money to buy luxury's when I work my ass off paying my own bills....but still have people tell me I can't purchase a super size soda......the hypocrisy on here is out of control.......people on here feel I do not have the right to spend my money on a Big Mac and fries because it will cost them if I get sick.....
How have we become a country that looks down on the people that work hard and will do without so that they do not have to take others money.....yet find all types of excuse for the lazy free loaders?

With WIC you can only buy certain items.....What type of grocery's do you buy? Filet, Lobster, Caviar?

That is the main point of the post....

OK. So I don't really see where stating my beliefs and what people may have to face someday(maybe including myself) really has to do with judging anyone. But with that said.....

what are you trying to say? Because I believe in God i'm suppose to be this perfect angel of a human being that never does no wrong. I simply try to be the best I can and keep my faith while asking for forgiveness for my imperfections. Get real bro.

no one is an angel. but if you are going to preach the gospel, at least practice a little bit of it. I mean, seriously, who in the right mind believes they can KNOW a person's motivation and if they are "milking the system" based on nearly nothing?

if you are going to hold yourself to a higher standard (feeling "sorry" for others, like you are somehow better than them), as many christians tend to do, be prepared to be held to that standard by those you are judging.

Doing that now. I've been sleeping in my car 4 to 5 times a week since February.

by getting worked up over food stamps you're sucking big fat corporate dick...open wide! any more distracted and the gov't dick will go in your azz, without you even knowing it. distracted even more and you will start liking it. take the corporate dong out of your mouth and look at the bigger picture.

    1. Where did I say I KNOW this woman is milking the system? Whither she is or not I was simply saying that someone living off other peoples hard work shouldn't have the luxury of eating better than the people that are paying for it. Do you deny that there is a fraudulant system going on here?

    2. I don't hold myself to a higher standard. By feeling sorry for them I didn't mean I was better than anyone else. But I should have realized that it would come across as condescending and I apologize for that.

    3. I'm not judging anyone. I just stated that people with lack of faith in God will have to answer to that. But for people that don't believe in God that shouldn't matter because they don't believe in it anyway. Be prepared too be held to the standard of those I am judging? As a catholic in america in this day and age.....no one is judged more my friend. Have a nice day!

It has always upset me when I see people coming in and buying 40-50 dollars of candy on food stamps

Then a few packs of cigarettes

    And some beer

We need to have a nutritional basis applied to the food stamps.

this is the thing with the social infrastructure in the states ... it's designed to be inefficient and exploited ... take medicaid for example ... if you want health insurance - you're better off hiding all your assets with family members or somewhere else ... everything else is the same way - you're better off being destitute than working 3 jobs to get less ...

without passing judgement on this particular case - it is obvious there are people who are going to exploit these programs ... just like corporate welfare ... all i'm saying is that when you combine the cultural fabric of society and the infrastructure of these programs, it almost begs you to exploit it ...

you want to live in a place where buying shit is the singular most important duty of the citizen and that greed and excess trump everything else? - well, reap what you sow ...

We need to have a nutritional basis applied to the food stamps.
The Jason P plan is simple and effective. It would ban any food item that is sold at a 7/11 from being purchased with food stamps. (not just specific to 7/11 but anywhere else that item is sold)

But, one doesn't have to give in to the begging. Why not just do what's right? Take what you need; I'm more than willing to give to anyone needing a hand-up. Just don't take advantage. Those that do fuck it up for those legitimately in need.

    :lol::lol:

sorry but c'mon ... don't take this personally but america is a me-first nation ... take as much as you can ... however you can ...

and i would disagree with the notion that this isn't purposeful ... you have to remember that on the flip side to the person on food stamps is a retailer, a manufacturer, a supplier who is getting paid ... your gov't is in massive defecit because it chooses to spend tax dollars on feeding corporations ... whether they be defense contractors, prisons or the purveyors of cocoa puffs ... people are getting paid ...

there is not interest in "cleaning this up" ... it's a system that is designed this way for a reason ... all this talk is purposeful only in so much as dividing the population base and distracting the people from the true problems ...
