fun new yummy greens. Always cool to try a different one.
these are some baby corn yet to produce. Also some snap peas.

Have carrot seedlings growing. Will have to thin them out soon.
    Lot's of great lettuce.
Plan to jar up some more stringbeans. Love that my dill is doing great too.
    Good year.

Planted Fava beans and couple weeks ago as a cover crop. Roots are supposed to be great to break up the soil. After they are done I will harvest if any beans, then turn the plants into the soil. First time I'm doing this. They are starting to sprout now.

Fertilized my carrots with fish emulsion. They look great.

String beans are about done. Been giving away lots of them. Lettuce too.

Also have a good handful of golden beets. Planted tons but only got about 7.

Just planted about 20 garlic today. They need the cold winter (& about 9 months)to form into full bulbs. So with each one planted I think of next season.

    Good times. Take care

freeze warning so harvested most of my lettuce, washed, bagged in fridge. Boiled up the few beets and put in with a jar of pickled ones.
    Winter is coming

Second year in a row most of my tomatoes did not ripen until the Fall. Anyone else experience this?

Yes. Some were so slow to ripen. Brought them, unripened, inside. They ripened up nicely on the table. Also kept the critters from snacking on them.

Thanks!  It is satisfying and enjoy sharing my harvest with friends. Was a great season. Now adding chopped up leaves to the top of my garden. Lettuce making it through a few good cold nights still.

didnt have such a good year in our newly constructed raised beds. have a jalapeño,  serrano and poblano still going, new flowers and peppers coming in,  in the pop up greenhouse. the early girl and big boy tomatoes that were smallish and still green late are slowly turning red on the vine in the greenhouse

    Bump this up.
    Spring is coming.
Planning what to plant and have to go visit my community plot to see idig up my carrots i left in the ground.
Early season I plan to plant seeds:
    Peas (snap and shelling)
    Onions (never did them before)
    Beets
    Carrots
    Lettuce

    Have lots of seeds.

Then summer. June/July when above is harvested.
    Peppers
    Tomatoes
Potatoes (never had luck with them and see others grow well?)
Dill (still wating the stuff i dried)
    Stringbeans
    Cucumbers
    And who knows what else?

Always a nice time of year.
    ❤️

    *edit. Home garden*

Planted my spring seeds. Hope not too early:
Carrots, beets, spinach, shelling peas, snap peas. I was a little more haphazard about seed spacing. If most germinate, I'll have to thin them out a lot.
The soil looks great. Added some sheep compost and mixed it in. Last seaon after I pulled out my plants, I added eggshells and other more raw compost. It broke down well over the winter.
I read somewhere to get good plants, you have to start with being a good dirt farmer. Makes sense.
Anyway, anothrr hopeful season had begun

    busy day at community plot.
    Turnips, carrots, beets, lettuce.
Did a row of red onions and a row of sweet onions. First time ever planting onions.
Garlic in back corner looks good.
Snap peas along path and shelling peas in back right corner.

If all grows I'll be knee deep in good stuff. Love this time of year.

    Now: wait, thin, water

The blossoms are growing! I obviously did nothing to accomplish this, but it is growing, and I love it every year.
