Being the first night of the tour there were very few hiccups for a show that's so intricate with it's stage design. It will be interesting to follow the tour as it continues to see if the set changes or tightens up a bit.

Ultimately, if you like the Pumpkins, you'll love the show. I'd recommend knowing as little as possible about the show going in, it will make the surprises that much better. I'm happy to tell you more about it, but also don't want to give too much away.

Was it packed, did it wind up selling out? I'm sure with the overwhelming positive reviews that I have seen today it will spike the sales for the remainder of the tour.

It was not sold out. The entire upper level was curtained off, and anyone with seats up there got upgraded to the lower lever or floor (pretty sweet deal for those people). Whole lower level was pretty much packed at that point then. While obviously nowhere near capacity, it still felt full and alive.

I had a friend who went to the show and said it was amazing!!!

I can't wait to see them in ATL and Indianapolis. The Indiana show is a few days before PJ Wrigley. gonna be an epic summer.

Wow, that's sad so even the upper level facing the stage and sides? The whole upper level? Man that has to be hard to look at for Billy and the band even if they didn't expect all these shows to sell-out I'm sure they never expected the place to be half empty, especially on opening night!

Yep, the entirety of the upper level. If it affected him, he did not let it show. Though, he hardly said a word all night. James almost exclusively did all the talking, save for a few words. Hadn't seen them before, so I'm not sure if that is typical or not. I'm hoping the good reviews and word of mouth will create more ticket sales for them. I was always a fan, though by no means a huge die-hard, but this show sold me on their importance and legendary status. I would love for others to experience that too.

Seeing them Saturday and Louisville and again in August in Indianapolis. Pretty stoked!

Metric is opening and goes on right at 7pm. The lights went down and the opening video started right at 8:15 for us in AZ at the tour opener.

Going to the Atlanta show this weekend. Looking forward to it! Also, I just looked to see if tickets are still available and it’s only about halfway sold out. Tons of seats still available on the floor and lower level.

I am seeing them at MSG in August.  Have never seen them before but have always been a fan.  Plus these set lists look great.

Listened to the opening night show and it was great.  Solid setlist and the band sounds incredible!  His voice will never be 1996 again, but neither will my physique.  Looking forward to Chicago I on 8/13

These shows will be a treat for fans and casuals alike. Funny how people complain about 3 hour shows and all of us on here expect it. bravo to the Pumpkins for giving people their money's worth. can't wait for Sunday!

Was there as well. Great show and they played for just over 3 hours. Loved the visuals and effects too.

glad you enjoyed it too. I got some great pics and I caught Billy's pick that he threw in the crowd after ripping that insane solo on "Drown".

Went to Louisville last Saturday and would love to be able to see them in Indy, but I will already be on the train to see the Wrigley shows.  Even though I have always been a big Pumpkins fan, I will say that even if you are sightly on the fence about seeing them DEFINITELY GO!!!  The only disappointing thing I saw was the lack of younger fans that you see at PJ shows now.  We need to teach this younger generation of kids what real music is...

 I saw a few youngsters in ATL, but not as many as I see at PJ shows.

Yah, the PJ thing works because I know every song.   There's always way more I want to here.   With the pumpkins I've listened to the first four albums religiously (Gish, Siamese Dream, Pisces Iscariot, and Mellon Collie).    The Aeroplane flies high is pretty good, but there's so much in it, I don't listen to it all that often.  I love spinning the first disc of it... insanely good covers on it.  Adore has a few songs, then I get lost.

If they were digging deep from the earlier albums I'd enjoy it.   I've opted not to go back to Seattle due to how expensive it would be, but if the tour came to Vancouver I'd see if I could drag someone to go.

I'll be in the nosebleeds Friday in Baltimore but super-pumped.  I only wish I was closer to get a good glimpse of Emily Haines legs during Metric's set. But I'm sure I'll survive.  Glad to be in the building!
