I'm not very familiar with Zeitgest, so I think the new song sounds pretty damn good. Better than anything I expected, really.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
It’s not that bad but if I was at the show you could find me at the bar or urinal when they played it.I'm like an opening band for your mom.0

Wow, lol, to me that means it's terrible.RoleModelsinBlood31 said:It’s not that bad but if I was at the show you could find me at the bar or urinal when they played it.
I dunno - I did have really low expectations... I think I always have really low expectations when Billy Corgan is involved. That isn't even fair, because then he keeps exceeding my expectations in terms of the music produced ... but then I continue to have low expectations anyhow, lol. I guess that's what happens to good artists who are huge, unbearable dipshits.

Yeah- I mean to me it’s kinda how I feel about you can’t deny me. One listen is good enough for me, and I slid the bar pretty much all the way to the end to see if it got any better. It didn’t. Billy’s voice sounds off or out of tune or too loud. One of the three or perhaps all three.PJ_Soul said:

it also immediately struck me as a zeitgeist throwaway. not impressed as a first single. billy needed to blow us out of the water with this one, with all the hype and nonsense. he did not.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

well. the song def sounded better live on TV last night.
not a fan of Rick Rubin's production on heavier songs.
did a good job with Johnny Cash, Billy's solo and Tom Petty. but I think his production on Slayer sounds really dated.
guess I will reserve judgment until I hear more songs from these sessions.

Was lucky enough to be invited to the show last night by a buddy who won tickets. It was a great show. My first time actually seeing SP. I really enjoyed it and you really couldn't top seeing them in that small of a venue. Seemed like they were in really good spirits and enjoying themselves.lolobugg said:I am loving the setlist from last night!!!0 -

Those were awesome experiences. Glad you got to see them at a small place.

This new track is okay...not the "return" to form" I was expecting (audio sounds very dry). I really liked Oceania (2012), but did not care for Momuments to an Elegy (2014). I saw the Pumpkins play with Garbage back in 1995 and it was a great show! But that was 20+ years ago and we can't expect artists to be 27yo forever.goldrush said:
I'm gonna hope for the best, but expect the worst on this new album. But I'm excited to hear what they'll come out with! 0 -
