positives from monday: revere's 12 pitch walk...dom brown's encouraging approach at the plate...and, of course, 26. score 5 runs, you should win most nights. there's no defending the r6 though. that 5th inning at bat was hard to watch. also---the ump changing his strike zone in the 8th inning did us no favors.

2nd game of the season...but a pretty big one tonight. come on doc...

2nd game of the season and the media and fan base is already in panic mode. love this town sometimes

and that dykstra book has to be a must read. gotta be some insane stories.

panic mode? god you're an idiot sometimes. it's sort of important to see how halladay does tonight. i assumed people who follow this team know what i'm talking about. 162 game season man. relax...

oh i'm 100% on the relax part but the Inquirer this morning (and uhh you above) called it a big game. the important part for halladay is health. if he doesn't pitch great tonight but is healthy (he says he is but who knows) then it should be fine. let's not overstate the importance of his performance tonight unless it's due to injury. basically what i'm saying is the season isn't over if roy doesn't pitch great tonight or because of a 5th inning strikeout.

well that's a relief. pjhawks states the season isn't over if halladay doesn't pitch great tonight. PHEW.

every start of his is important to me as a large part of our success this year is riding on him reinventing himself throughout the season. and there is a possibility that he's hurt. he said he was fine last year too.

    effyou.
so is it a big game or not? 2 posts above you said, and i quote "it's a big one tonight" and now you say it's not. i swear this thread is like arguing with a woman who changes her mind within 2 minutes.

wow you just have bad reads on almost everything you post about in here.

it's a big one because doc is on the mound. "come on doc" is what i said after calling it big. they can get swept but if doc looks decent, i'll be happy.

and you should know, if you're paying attention to this team, that it's not just health. he can be perfectly healthy but he's lost his 92 mph fast ball. he's got to reinvent himself this year. it's not an easy task for a guy who relied on his fast ball for so many years. if anyone can do it, it's him. but it may take a while.

    2. yeah this is called sarcasm...and it's fitting you didn't pick up on it.
    3. makes perfect sense when looking at what i actually said.

you feeling okay this morning? telling me to go f myself over this seems a tad harsh. just read my posts more clearly next time and you should be okay.

Currently 38 degrees clear skies. Should reach a high around 46. Overnight lows in the high 20's.

Good to have ya around - gotta get the boring-day-at-work-Philly-talk going again. Actually, I'm working out your way these days - Oaks, specifically.

And, yes, isn't the irony of our fine "esteemed" and "all-knowing" buddy pjhawks amazing? And, remember, he's got a GREAT eye for the game. Again, I can't speak highly enough of the block feature here on this site.

Aaaanyway, looking forward to tonight. And hopefully the weather gets better as the week gets shorter.

And also - can't wait for The Dude movie - just sucks my favorite player of all-time is a complete waste. Maybe I can mail my signed ball of his to his jail cell to help him pay some bills....then again, that means someone would want to buy it...

    Season over. :lol::lol:

Anyone see the Young play in the 7th or 8th in which he was called for baserunner interference on his way to 1st. I don't know the rule but his feet were on the white line leading to 1st and the pitcher is throwing the ball from his ass. It seemed like the ump wanted to get out of the rain early.
