I'd offer him a 2yr deal worth 7 a yr with a team option. I'd include bonuses what could make each year max out at 10. 3yrs 45 is insane, were did you see that?

My season ticket holder survey 'comments'

I am disgusted with what Ruben Amaro has done to this team. He stays, I go (as a season ticket holder). Simple as that.

Until this team embraces advanced statistics and better ways of player evaluation, they will continue to fade into irrelevance. Get rid of amaro.

Besides the money, why would Utley want to stay here for this mess? Surely he can get close to what the Phillies will offer somewhere else.
    Alright, alright, alright!

dude, I said same exact thing last night. I'd run and hide from anything amaro is involved in...unless it's a poker game since that would be easy money

Looks like Cliff might be available.

According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, Cuban right-hander Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez has agreed to a six-year deal with the Phillies worth more than $50 million.
The Dodgers were believed to be the favorites to land Gonzalez, until a report earlier in the week that they were no longer pursuing him. It's a nice addition for the Phillies who land a potential top of the rotation starter. The 26-year-old right-hander is believed to be nearly major league ready, so he shouldn't require much minor league seasoning

    A little over 8 a year isn't a massive deal. I don't know much about him either, except they say he's a #2 or #3.

Ah, yeah, a cuban who hasnt thrown professionally in a year gettinf $50 mil isnt massive? Okay. Scouting reports all over, could be good, could be terrible. He got more than cespedes or puig, that alone makes it massive. It's a huge fucking contract.

It's good money don't get me wrong. But 8 a yr for a guy with possibly #2 stuff isn't alot. Hell Joe Blanton made 8 and was a 4/5. This could turn out very good or bad, time will tell. I just like that the Phillies actually got a big time International player for one.
    Go Birds!!!!

Like I said, I don't know anything about him, just read scouting reports. Interesting move.

seriously. amaro is such a turd. lot of money to give a guy who hasn't pitched in two years. This move better mean they are trading lee and/or kendrick.

it's a lot of money, but it isn't that bad, especially with the tv deal looming. 6 years is probably a year or two too long. if we're thinking rationally, shouldn't we be a little happy that the phils are finally utilizing the international market though? this is an unphillies like move. high upside is a #2 starter. already almost mlb ready. i think it's worth the risk. plus the free agent crop of pitchers next year isn't all that great, and they'd spend a bunch more there than this.

    other shoes...set to drop.

also--i've come to the conclusion that del frisco's is, without a doubt, the best steakhouse in the city.

i think this strip i had last night could have been the best cut of steak i've ever had. barclay prime is great too, obviously. haven't eaten there in years though.

my buddy works at the ritz carlton and was able to hook us up at del friscos last night. $1300 tab for 8 people...only had to pay the tip. (perhaps that is influencing my opinion  ....just a little bit though. food was so fucking good.

Word. Both are great spots. Del friscos space is just phenomenal. That's sweet you got set up like that. Buddies 30th this week and may be going on his works dime this week as well.

First off - I think Lightning Bolt is much better than Mind Your Manners.

Second of all - I don't care if the crowd waited for a while for this show to start up again, THAT CHICAGO CROWD SUCKED. BALLS. Total total total TOTAL weak effort. My God, man.

Would love for you guys to get Boegarts away from Boston. Stupid KC had to trade Myers to Tampa, would love to see a reversal of that.
