why is chase Utley above getting criticized in this town? is it because he is white???
jim Salisbury on csnphilly.com today talks about last night's game and mentions how ryan howard is hitting only .176 against lefties but he fails to mentions that is 62 points HIGHER than the golden boy (obp is almost the same, and slg and ops ryan is higher vs. lefties). chase is hitting a whopping .114 against lefties so far this year with 1 more at-bat than ryan.
look i'm not arguing that ryan doesn't need to be a lot better than he has been so far this year, but everyone acts like chase is having a good year and ryan isn't but ryan's overall stats are almost identical to chase's yet the perception is chase has been good and ryan has been bad (not even accounting for the 27 error pace chase is on defensively as opposed to zero for ryan).

all in all, a 4-3 west coast trip against a couple decent teams. i'll take that.
gentlemen, need i remind you that this is a marathon, not a sprint? we all realize that this is a deeply flawed team, but the football mentality we have in this town regarding this sport is always funny to me. we'll know where we stand in about 3 to 4 weeks.
