You gun loving types make me sick. The lengths you will go to argue this shit is beyond me. You're a big reason why your country will not make any progress on these gun issues.
Keep arguing though and cut and pasting facts and stats that aren't yours though, it makes you seem smarter.
As demographic, American women are purchasing firearms at the greatest rate in our nation’s history.
But at the peak, the President and the left, are making a concerted effort to demonize gun ownership and put strict gun controls on law abiding American citizens, which includes women.
One left wing news publication in New York even went so far as to publish the names and addresses of legal gun owners in areas of New York, as if to shame them.
Perhaps they didn’t realize when they published these names; they exposed women who were gun owners trying to keep their identities and residences secret in order to evade stalkers. This publication also outed the names and addresses of women judges and police officers, who were legal gun owners.
The two biggest gun control cities in the US; Chicago and New York City, are already shooting galleries, in spite of their tough gun laws. Law abiding citizens find it difficult to possess a legal firearm, yet the criminals and gangsters are heavily armed….They don’t register their guns and they have high capacity ammunition magazines, in spite of them being illegal.
Just last week, a Georgia woman alone at home with her two young children was terrified to see a man breaking into her house using a crowbar. She gathered up her children and ran upstairs hiding in a crawl space as the man searched the house looking for them.
The intruder finally opened the door to the hiding space. But instead of finding helpless victims, he was greeted with 6 shots from a pistol. She shot the criminal 5 times in the face and neck, when the hammer came down on an empty cylinder.
The gun was empty, but the criminal didn’t know it. She told him she would keep shooting if he didn’t stop. Although severely wounded he was able to get out of the house and climb into his car and drive away, thinking the woman would shoot again.
If he knew she had no more bullets in her gun would he have harmed her and her children? Suppose there were 2 or more intruders? She would not have had enough ammunition to defend herself and her children.
Of course the police arrived later to take reports…But they weren’t there when they were needed.
Many women live alone and want the security of owning a firearm and know how to safely use it. If they want to own a semi automatic rifle with a high capacity magazine, as long as they are law abiding citizens, let them. President Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, Governor’s Cuomo, or Emmanuel, can’t guarantee law abiding citizens a crime free environment, in spite of all of their laws. These politicians should deal with the criminal and mental health problem that that they refuse to address, before they infringe on the 2nd amendment rights of law abiding citizens.
In spite of the pathetic attempt to wave a magic wand and declare a location a “gun free zone” and make it all better, this has proven to have the opposite effect, as the recent mass shootings have all occurred in “gun free zones.”
Just like many utopian run cities and locations used to proudly boast they were nuclear free zones, they of course would get incinerated just as crisply as their neighboring cities if a nuke went off near them.
The 2nd Amendment guarantees American citizens, including women, the right to bear arms and it shall not be infringed upon.
why do non US citizens care so much about our politics?
many of us have family and friends who live there that are directly impacted. I don't want my nieces gunned down at school by some over zealous armed security guard.

why do non US citizens care so much about our politics?
One reason...I have driven into Canada at least a dozen times and never had my car searched. It would be incredibly easy to load up my trunk with legally bought firearms in the US to be sold on the Canadian black market.
why do non US citizens care so much about our politics?
Canadians are strongly impacted US politics and law. We pay close attention because it matters and affects us too.
little more specific....
why do non US citizens care so much about OUR gun laws
I can only speak for Canadians, but your gun laws matter to us because we share a massive and largely unprotected boarder over which guns travel, the Canadian government tends to react to US laws in kind (i.e. your laws can affect the progression or changes in our laws), and we also feel a close connection to American society in as far as us feeling affected when there are mass shootings in the US. Also, our societies are very similar in many ways - we study what's going on in the US (including gun laws/gun culture) and use it a kind of barometer for our own actions and viewpoints (and in some cases as an example of what not to do). And finally, a lot of us have friends and/or family in the US, and also spend a lot of time in the US ourselves.

Posted this in the gun thread that just got locked. I think it has some relevance. Ronald Reagan was apparently in favor of some gun control and, therefore, a threat to our freedom and liberty.

Pretty much.
Although we have a close eye on the legalization of weed down there. The way it's going in a couple of states now, especially Washington, it will likely help speed up legalization up here. The only reason it's not already legal in Canada is because the stupid government is scared of the US government. They don't want to piss off the feds by legalizing. Our PM is a total pussy.

Absolutely, and probably not a wise decision since women are 3 times more likely to be attacked at home by a person they know than by a stranger. The gun is more likely to be used against her in an abusive relationship, and she is unlikely to shoot a perpetrator she knows. Owning gun might provide a false sense of security.

I can't seem to make any sense if your comment comeback girl.
If someone breaks into her home to do her harm, why does it matter if she knows them or not?
That should not change your course of action. Furthermore, to suggest that if a woman owns a firearm she is likely to have that used against her seems to give little credit to woman.
Seems like an attack on women actually, like the article I just posted says.
Your comments are mind bottling.

Now you are accusing her of bottling minds??? :fp:
She is saying that women are 3 times more likely to be attacked at home
She didn't say anything about being attacked by an intruder, a trespasser, or someone who broke or forced their way in.
She is saying it would be someone she knows. A family member or friend or co-worker or neighbor
not a stranger

As a woman, it made sense to me and did not feel like an attack.
It matters a LOT if someone knows their attacker. That has a big impact on how any victim reacts to his or her attacker. Also, if it's someone she knows, and she is a responsible gun owner, she isn't likely to realize that she is being attacked by this person she knows until it's too late, and then won't have time to go down to her basement, then back upstairs because she realized that she can't remember the code to her gun locker so has to find it in her wallet, then go back downstairs, unlock the gun locker, the get a key and unlock the drawer with the ammo in it, then load the gun, and then run back upstairs and shoot the attacker. You know, because when it's someone you know, you're not expecting it, and they haven't just broken into your home. Of course, if it was a stranger, she's realize the situation much faster, so would have time for all that.
