Monday night is an absolute must win. lose and you go 0-3 in the division which makes it virtually impossible to win a tie-breaker to win the division. this of course means that even if you go 8-2 the rest of the way even 10 wins could leave out like last year. 100% have to win this game.
  • Yeah beat the Giants. Then lose to Dallas.

Hopefully Thurmond has a bad game. We signed him last year but he spent the season on IR. Now he's playing well for you guys.

I got no feel for this game tonight. can see pretty much anything happening. One thing that makes me feel a bit good is that this team is just due to play 4 really good quarters together aren't they?
  • Looking forward to this game. Eli has played well but I want to see the Giants get steamrolled.

Don't worry. Even if the Eagles are down by 40 in the 3rd. Our defense will let them tie in the 4th

no i pretty much only do the early games nowadays. are you going?

I think the eagles should win as they're the more desperate team at home. I can't have any level of confidence in them until they put at least a couple wins in a row together though.

Eli doesn't play Sammy he plays the Eagles' D. (More disconcerting is that Sammy plays the Giants' secondary.) I say Eagles by 6.

    Think tonight is important?

Word. I hear you. Yeah, I am going. A buddy bought me a ticket so I can't say no, though I don't have a ton of interest. Should be fun though. Took the day off tomorrow. Pretty big group going, though I am the only Giants fan.

Yeah, I hear you. Neither team has much of a secondary, so could be a shootout.

those odds are bogus. if the Eagles lose there is no way there is still a 29% chance they win the NFC East. If the Eagles lose tonight they cannot win a tiebreaker for the division title unless every team in the division ends up 3-3 (and even that doesn't guarantee a tie-breaker win) which chances of that are minimal. Also with a loss tonight since they can't win the division based on tie-breakers they have to win it outright, which means going at the very bare minimum 7-3 the rest of the way to finish 9-7 and everyone else finishing 8-8. and there isn't close to a 29% chance of that happening either. again that 29% chance of the eagles winning the division with a loss tonight is utter bullshit.

lose tonight the season is essentially over barring a miracle string of wins.

  • Odds to make the playoffs based on tonight's game (note, this is a week old) also from ESPN's FPI.

Monday Night Football: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

    - Eagles: 71 percent chance to win (plus-7.5 predicted point difference)

    - Eagles: approximately 68 percent chance to make playoffs if they win, 38 percent chance if they lose

    - Giants: approximately 60 percent chance to make playoffs if they win, 29 percent chance if they lose

Here is what goes into ESPN's FPI:
    ESPN Football Power Index
The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team's performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily.

I know it made your head blow up but the bottom line is that you find the game tonight to be even MORE important than they do. So -- we agree, it is important.

wish DeMarco Murray would live up to his hype! he has like 15 rushes (maybe more) for negative yards or no gain at all. Thank god for our defense!

least he finished strong, over 100 yards. 3 INT's and a turnover isn't good like i said thank god our defense is good!

I think this is the best defense this team has had since Jim Johnson was roaming the sidelines
