I'd be up for a bluray option, but most live music videos were filmed on videotape (which means there's no possibility of creating an HD master in which to make a bluray with).
The performance would need to have been captured on film (32mm would be ideal. 16mm is pretty grainy). It really is too bad more classic performances weren't put on film. I love watching Zeppelin's the song remains the same. It looks so epic watching classic Zeppelin in a very high quality film kind of way
Almost bought, but I am holding off. I want to know exactly what the package entails before I spend the money, it's a pretty high price. Really hoping the dvd is the Moore theater show, and not just rehearsal/ studio footage only. . April is a long ways away too.
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
I ain't preordering until more details are released by the 10C.
Of course, the last time I did that was for PJ20 Deluxe. And we all know how that ended up. I get the feeling this won't be "limited" or "exclusive", but how are we supposed to know these days?
this was another reason I'm on the fence. I want this bad, but need more details on what it all contains in the package, before I spend about $ 32 for it. I am including shipping in that price tag. Figure it's about $7 more dollars.

I'm sure they shot that show in a higher resolution than 720x480...
Probably not? The majority of stuff in the late 70s/80/90s was filmed on videotape. Videotape is pretty limited. That's why live concert releases of older concerts are so rare on bluray. It wasn't very often that a band was able to get their show shot on film (opposed to videotape).
One could hope the Mad Season show was done on film (and a high quality film like 32mm) but the odds are against it, as it's never been that common to shoot concerts on film.

Guess it's true, otherwise they might already have announced it... Darn...

Says the 2nd disc will be unreleased live tracks, as well as 3 tracks recorded back in the day for a second album with Mark Lanegan finishing the vocals. Plus the full show at The Moore with surround sound
But in a perfect world, this had been the package:
-VINYL from original master 180g
-BLU-RAY (or maybe two) including Moore show in 5.1 + all possible concert audios (being a bootleg or not - all Mad Season shows are available) + all the promo videos + original album in 5.1 and stereo 96kHz/24bit audio
-booklet including pictures & stories

Pearl Jam - 2000-06-30
Fugazi - 2000-10-10
The Mars Volta - 2003-03-24
I don't feel any urgency to pre-order this now since its not coming out until April. I'll be waiting for the vinyl as well.

A band from the 90's doesn't need to use the technology from the 90's, you know...
How about a Bluray?
