Well somebody put this on Belcher's Wikipedia page...

"Early on the first of December, 2012, Belcher shot and killed his girlfriend, and then proceeded to go to the Cheifs' practice facility, and end his own life."

The player apparently was confronted with #Chiefs coaches in the parking lot before he put the gun to his head and committed suicide.

All I see is His alleged suicide is being investigated as of December 1, 2012. Rumoured to be the player involved in a murder-suicide. After dressing in a Banana suit.
    Banana suit? WTF?

I actually agree with the call.

It is going to be ugly around the stadium, and I think for the team to get there mind off of what happened and rally around the positive memory of their teammate is better than going home to mull it all over all weekend.

Memorial services etc. will happen soon after, but no need to dwell on things. Life goes on for the rest of the guys.

I 1 billion percent concur with norm's statement.
    Game.
    Lives are ruined and lost
    Emotions are out of control
    families are devasted & ruined
    friends are distraught
    teammates have to process this
Gate receipts & kilbasa/beer sales can wait.

    I applaud your sensibilities norm.

RIP to the young lady who lost her life in this horrific tragedy and godspeed the healing to those friends, families and teammates...this cannot be easy

It is just a game. I agree. But it is not meaningless to the men playing.

To these men it is the normal routine. It is a way to honor their friend. It is a way to respect him, and celebrate their common love.

I believe it is healthier to play the game, than not. Especially as it gets them away from Kansas City.

I respect your opinion, just disagree as to what is better for them.

Positive memory of their team-mate? Dude killed his girlfriend.

Sad story, but I doubt a lot of guys will have 'positive' memories about him.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Of course they will. Are you joking?

Just as anyone who loses someone to Prison, or suicide, or Murder Suicide.

They will remember the person they loved.

They won't only focus on the last act.

And of course they will be conflicted.

Unfortunately the game has to go on. Too many scheduling conflicts to try and postpone it. Tragic event without a doubt but the NFL is a business. If the Yankees can play the day after Munson died...

Wow....so sad. How does life get to that point? Something I'll never get. The mind can be a fucked up thing.

If the reports are true and that kid is now an orphan. Fucking terrible.

I'm not saying it is right. I'm saying that is what is going to happen.

They will remember the person they loved, and hopefully despise what he has done.

When a mother visits her son in prison, she doesn't love him less. Yes she deals with what he has done, but also remembers the boy she raised and the good times.

I think this will happen, and the team will heal as a unit together.

I guess. I mean the fucking article talks about a fan twitter account and how many followers it has. A 25 year old just killed himself and possibly his girlfriend leaving a 3 month old as an orphan and they are fucking worried about reporting on how many followers a fucking twitter account has
  • you have to cancel the game. or postpone it. it's a truly meaningless game anyway (not that that should be the tipping point). Who really wants to be in that building cheering on football players right after that happened.

on another note you could probably score some sweet seats for cheap tomorrow.... i mean you already could but now even more so.

yeah i know, man. our society is a fucking disaster. and we made it so, and we keep it so. the only way to change things around is to stop feeding into the stupid ass bullshit.

fuck twitter, fuck facebook, fuck being crazy about a football team.

off topic.... i read the other day that a guy in the dallas area is trying to get jerry jones removed from ownership of the cowboys for several reasons. one, ticket prices. he has to cover the cost of the 1.5 billion dollar stadium. what the fuck?

how come the cowboys can't play in grass & dirt where football started all those years ago? i like seeing a good snow storm during a game or mud & grass stains. what the fuck happened?
