Maybe Kayne is from N.Y. and thats why he was on the bill.
He's from Chicago.
I think they just wanted to reach a varied audience by offering a variety of music genres, and Kanye was immediately available for the gig. It's clear what the main demographic focus was, and why, but they wanted to target all the other people with money to give as well obviously.
I think Kanye sucks, but know that not everyone thinks so, so it's fine that he was on bill; I'm sure a lot of people liked it.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
Kayne was on the bill because he is probably the most popular rapper at the moment and that means more viewers. I don't particularly like him, but I agree that he put on a very good performance-for a rapper.
I thought coming out in that skirt was a ballsy move and he gave it his all being up there by himself.

It's there. Mistakenly mislabeled the track list.
I was there. Such a great moment. I traded my Benny set for a ticket. Well worth it. Also saw Pink Floyd perform The Wall in 1980 at Nassau on Long Island. Nice when two of my favorite artists come together for a good cause.

I see Springsteen went for advertising the new record instead of including the Born to Run duet.
true, but most 69 year old men are not in that good condition (not where I live!)
8/08 - Ed solo in DC, 6/09 Ed in B'more,
10/10 - Brad in B'more
No problemo!
