Dear PJ Fans,
After more than 16 years waiting, I get to see Pearl Jam.
I've been a die-hard fan of PJ's since Ten. I was really young when Ten was released and it took me a while to grow up and get a decent job. When I finally had the money to travel to a Pearl Jam venue I couldn't get tickets or dates to work for me. Keep in mind that PJ only did a South American tour until 2005, and skipped Colombia (why ooh why?).
In 2007, everything is working for me. My brother lives in Amsterdam, my girlfriend is traveling with me, and the concert in Nijmegen will be the best concert Pearl Jam does in Europe.
It will be the best because it is one of the biggest venues, it is a sort-of-festival but not too big, and PJ is just waiting to repeat Pinkpop (so I'm told). We'll get a great and long setlist, watch the sunset and get crazy in the summer.
Thanks PJ and thanks to everyone for keeping them alive for so long.

Hey Daniel, welcome to this board. I hope you'll have fun in the park...it's gonna be great!
Welcome.0 -
Daniel.. brace yourself for the time of your life! if pearl jam is planning to repeat the impression they made in landgraaf 92, with their current catalog, you are in for one hell of a treat, which hopefully you'll be in any ways..your light's reflected now0

so all we need is the other support act for the full billing. i'd guess none will play longer than 45 - 60 minutes...thus if it starts at 5, still plenty of time for a loooooonnnnng pearl jam show.your light's reflected now0 -

I saw Wolfmother in as the support act last year in Arnhem (if there's a god please send down a couple of tickets for Nijmegen, hmmm?) but i'd like something like Death Cab For Cutie better as a support actHeart & Kidnies!

parel jam wrote:Well, the Peppers play 4 days prior to PJ in the Goffert Park. So, likewise you can say they are the support act of PJ.
:P
Hehehe, first PJ was a support act and now RHCP is a support act?0 -

Yeah, I like both...but finally justice...
PJ is a much better band.0 -
of course PJ is better, but RHCP are actually exceptional musicians. Plus I admire them for sticking to it for so long, and overcoming their obstacles, they were complete junkies at the beginning, total mess, you'd never thought they could make itI'll ride the wave where it takes me...0

PJ is a much better band, but the Peppers made the best album ever imo (BSSM)...I love that album...0 -

Butterfly_Thoughts wrote:maybe not the best ever, but definitely up there with the great american albums. I think their wild lifestyle kinda overshadows their true abilities as musicians. BSSM is an aaaawesome song, the bassline, oooooh!
I like Sir Psycho Sexy...ouch...what a great song...0 -
