Had a crazy meeting in the beer garden. Traded shirts with a gal that wanted my Dirty Franking T-shirt and she snapped a few pics. Would love to see them if she's out there somewhere. Big man in a little shirt.
We got to the venue about 12:30 PM and just hung out by the backstage area. Girlfriend and I decided to walk in the backstage door, which was open with no security. Got to see them setting up the stage and saw the dressing room areas. Left and hung out by the back gate where the band was to arrive and the rigs were. Met two guys from Edmonton (one from Australia) and hung with them for a bit, super nice guys. Didn't see anyone from the band at that point, so decided to leave and come back before the show. Came back about 6:30PM'ish and hung out with the same guys from Edmonton for awhile. Decided to leave and walk up the stairs and out came Eddie. Yelled a quick "hello" to him and "have a good show" and he smiled and waived back. Saw him again walking into the backstage area with Mudhoney and gave him the hang-loose which he returned.
Everyone was out front or inside the venue, but the real fun was outside by the backtage area. Was cool to see Jeff Ament's family arrive and then seeing Eddie again after the show hanging out in the back area. Super cool.
The show was amazing, by far the best I've ever seen of them. I didn't even know Eddie was sick until someone told me after. He was drinking wine so he couldn't have been that sick.
Anyway, hope to run into those guys from Edmonton.
Glad you guys had a good time...I got rejected at the rim for the second year in a row. Last year we got stopped at the border...inadmissible to Canadia for the Vancouver show. This time we actually got into the show but my girl fainted and hit her head on the way down in the entrance to section 203 during the Mudhoney set. Low blood pressure + thin mountain air apparently don't mix. Transported to the hospital...no injuries sustained...no readmittance to the Adams Center. We've also tried to watch PJ20 twice and only made it half way through.
Something strange between me and Pearl Jam right now.
I thought the execution of the songs last night came up a little short and now I know why, EV was sick. They were off key at times and it never seemed to really get cranked up. A great time however in Missoula, back in West Seattle now, didn't Ed invite us all to visit him last night?
Wow, I disagree. I thought it was fucking incredible, sound wise and cranked wise!
I did hear they were trying out a new sound system, maybe that's already been mentioned though.
Carey's right. The band was demoing a new PA rig. There were several people walking around at the back of the floor doing the "stop, listen, move ten feet over, stop, listen, move ten feet over, stop, listen" thing during the first few songs. They definitely made a big adjustment to the sound around Given To Fly. Maybe that's what you heard. It wasn't very loud at the beginning.

This has been a freaking great weekend in Missoula!! Meeting Aaron and Shannon at LAX, and then seeing them around everywhere!! Meeting up with Brad and Mark at the Pressbox, guys that we hung out with at PJ20. Finally meeting J-Mo in the most random fashion. While waiting for the meet and greet, my buddy Jason stops to have smoke in the shade of a tree. There's a guy and a girl already there. We introduce ourselves, then go our separate ways. J-Mo texts me where are you in the meet and greet. I reply and tell him I am wearing my Buil to Last t-shirt. We had already met and didn't know it!! Good times!!
The meet and greet was cool and low key like I hoped it would be. Got to thank Jeff, Mike, and Stone for the last 21 years of unbelievable music and memories!!
I thought the show was insanely awesome. My seats might have influenced that, sec 110 row 2. But the joy on the guys' faces was easy to see, and that just added to my enjoyment. Ghost, Man of the Hour, Corduroy, indifference, the sit down encore...Hell the whole show rocked for me. Ed was right..."This is going to be a helluva boot!"
Thank you to everyone in Missoula, y'all were simply fantastic!!
Cheers,
Barger

It's probably due to low post count
so...the more I post the higher my lady's blood pressure will go?...sounds about right
Very happy I made the trip. Drove from Spokane to Missoula. Beautiful country in Montana. The town was great. Met some great people. I thought the beer garden in the venue was awesome. I'm used to dropping 8-12 bucks for a beer inside an arena, and only paid $5 for a local brew.
Super stoked they sat down and went acoustic in the first encore. Man of the Hour was simply amazing.
Thought for sure I'd hear Crown of Thorns. Next time I hope.

21st show, been waiting 10 years to hear it live. Thanks guys.
I went 26 shows between hearing Ghost in 2003 and then the Philly 2009 show. Was great to hear at Missoula. It is an interesting live song because you can't really jump around or dance to it (to me the mid-tempo beat isn't fast enough), but then it isn't a quiet singalong either. From my view it looked like the die hard crowd just took a break and chilled out during the song (not saying that in a bad way or anything).
What a show and weekend. Hung out with a lot of fun people. The people in Missoula are super nice and helpful. Did some hiking. The setlist was great, but have to admit I was hoping for a Fatal, Of the Earth, Hitchhiker or Dirty Frank. You know, an extra (I say extra because they gave us an awesome show already) reward for the die hards.
Better Man - I love hearing Save it For Later every time
Lowlight - I Got Id and this one continue to fight for my favorite Pearl Jam song
Amongst the Waves - turning into a concert staple from Backspacer which is awesome
Do the Evolution - Crowd singing the guitar part was great and didn't really need any prompting from Ed for it
Jeremy - was great to hear early in the set. With the crowd this was my favorite time hearing Jeremy.
...
Nothing as it Seems/Smile - Where were these Jeff classics? ha.
Just breathe - a sitdown acoustic encore with no Just Breathe...and the apocalypse didn't happen either!
My quest to meet just one band member continues, but was really happy for everyone that got to meet the band this weekend. One day...
Thanks Pearl Jam for picking awesome places to play shows at.

You are my hero. I'm up to 16 states (FL, IL, IN, KY, MA, MI, MO, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, WA, DC, WI, MT). My streak only goes back to 2003. 20 years is freaking impressive.
What an incredible night! The venue was great... highlights for me were Man of The Hour, Nothingman,Fortunate Son, and I nearly lost it during Kick Out The Jams... Just amazing all around. It's a great feeling when you can't help but have really high hopes for an experience to be transcendent, and then it just totally delivers.
As far as the song being played on the PA after the show, It was early-ish Tom Waits, maybe his song "I'm Your Late Night Evening Prostitute". I remember commenting about it being Tom to my wife, but don't recall what song it was.
I was sorry to see Jon Tester leaving the show when I was having a smoke during break, somebody said maybe it was Ed's dick joke that drove him off!
Hello everyone. Anyone. My wife and I saw the Missoula show. I'm almost 52 and my first Pearl Jam concert. Wow! We traded seats with another couple and ended up in the VIP section 11 rows up from the stage. I feel blessed beyond measure. I'm still vibrating 2 days later. Pearl Jam is good people from the fab 6 to the roadies, 10 club people, security, you name it. First class people. A national treasure. They are amazing. What set's Ed apart is his pen. His connection. "And I listen to the voice inside my head". Voice, not voices. Of course his physical voice set's him apart also. They are the perfect blend of musician's. I have been going to rock show's on and off for 35 years and this was the best show, and I have seen Dylan. The boy's look really good. I live in Eastern Idaho so we only had to drive 300 miles. My wife called the first song as we were waiting to go in. She's a trip. Love to all....
We had some bad news with our dog leading up to the trip and we weren't realy right in the head untill we reached Montana. ( A special Thank you to every one who had support and kind words sent our way)
When we reached the airport it was like WOW where is every one. It was so out of the way it was a "Ghost" town
We didnt start getting excited until Saturday when my buddy Chad showed up. That kinda made the whole thing start to feel real. We went about walking and stopped in the bars and seen a few other PJ fans. It was great to meet so many faces and now to be able to place the face with a name.
The day of the show we got there about 9am. Put our name on the GA list and was #43. The first people I was told arrived about 2am. Hard core.
Waited and talked up a storm with a bunch more fans. My buddies from Arizona and finally got to meet ARQ. What a character. Full of energy and smiles. What a great guy. Awesome time out there with him and his friend.
About noon we hear tom Petty being played through the doors. We thought it was sound check. Well it kinda was. Then Mudhoney came on for there sound check.
3 PM they start to give out tickets. my friends got them We ended up going by the doors and heard Pearl Jam doing sound check of Ghost,Fortunate Son, and Man of The Hour (I think)
After the merch hunt we got in line for the entry to the GA. Being #43 I didnt think I would get close enough to the rail. I was wrong. I was right in front of Mike the whole show.
It was a great experience I will never forget. Mike made the show so entertaining. Where does he get the energy. He would point out a certain fan and sing along with them. He did it to me a bunch of times. Made me feel like it was just me and him in the whole place.
The crowed was so awesome in GA. We need more shows like this. Their was just enough people on the floor to where it was not uncomfortable. Staff and security brought us water every time we asked.
The crowed was so loud we couldnt even hear Ed singing. I woke up to my ears still ringing.
My favorite part of the show other than making contact with Mike and holding my hat up as a catchers mit and having him throw pics into it was when he came off the stage and laid back in my arms and played guitar. Fucking awesome. I sure hope there is a picture some where out there of this.
Between meeting a lot of my fellow 10 clubbers and the show, Id have to say this was one of my favorite weekends in my whole life.
Thank you to the 10 club, 10 club members,Montana,Mudhoney, and Pearl Jam for giving me a weekend I will never forget.
Thank you.
Oh yes, I almost forgot :? I ended up getting pictures with Mark Arm and then the rest of the guys of Mudhoney at the airport. Pretty damn awesome.
I cant leave out my buddy George. What a great guy and a asset to the 10 club. Cant wait to see you all again
Hi everyone! First post here, and my first show seeing the band as well! They did not disappoint, after having listened to so many of the boots over the years I felt like my expectations were really high, especially with all the hype surrounding the show. Even better show that expected. I live less than an hour away so it was great to have PJ come to my home state and put on an amazing performance. I could give the rundown of my highlights, but there were so many that I'll just do a song by song review. Oh, and the only bummer of the evening was standing in the horribly long merch line for an hour only to be told that the posters were gone... :fp: Really wanted one of my first show. Oh well, better luck next time.
SET 1 Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
Great song to kick off the night, it felt like there was energy in the building that was about to spill over. Standard performance.
Corduroy
Finally a release to the energy, the crowd was bouncing and the band sounded great.
Do The Evolution
Didn't sound to intense from Ed, prob because of the cold, but still a great rocker.
Got Some
This one sounds better live than I expected, the crowd mellowed on this one though. Decent.
Given To Fly
One of my favorite songs, so glad they played it. Sounded great and the crowd was loving it.
Amongst The Waves
A good new song, I like this one a lot and makes me miss the ocean.
Severed Hand
Love this song on Avocado, kinda lacking live though.
Unthought Known
Favorite from backspacer, really good. Sounds great live too.
Not For You
Yes, now this is what I'm talking about. The whole building went nuts for it. Great performance.
State Of Love And Trust
Feel lucky to have heard this at my first show, such a classic PJ song. Loved it.
Jeremy
Rocking. Awesome.
Ghost
I appreciate the rarity factor, but this wasn't a highlight for me.
Daughter
This song never gets old, the hey ho lets vote part was a bit lamer than neccesary though. Still, loved it. Went by too fast.
Know Your Rights
Absolutely rocked, sounded great. I enjoyed it alot.
Comatose
This one was okay..kept the energy high.
Why Go
Classic PJ, can't go wrong. The whole crowd singing every song.
Lights go off...felt like the band had just got on stage...I thought :nono: Set seemed shorter in person than on paper.
ENCORE 1 Last Kiss
Thought this one was coming. I enjoyed watching ed sing to the crowd in back.
Off He Goes
The band sitting and playing acoustic was awesome. This song sounded so, so good. I love acoustic PJ
Low Light
Wow, first show and got this one, awesome!!! Loved it.
Man Of The Hour
Jaw on the floor. Can't believe I was hearing them playing this. One of the high points of the night.
Nothingman
Love this one, sounded great.
That ended the acoustic set which was as a whole my favorite part of the night.
Better Man
Knew this one was coming and it was a great one. The whole crowd singing and jumping.
ENCORE 2 Wasted Reprise
Almost better than the song itself
Life Wasted
Wasn't feeling this one, but it was about 100 degrees at this point in the upper seats so that may have played a part.
Fortunate Son
Probably my favorite cover, and the band didn't disappoint. A great version.
Alive
Perfect.
Kick Out The Jams
Hate this one on tape, but in person it was like 5 minutes of pure and utter chaos mixed with rock and roll. The energy was outta control.
Rockin' In The Free World
Solid performance, lights were on and everyone was still rocking out hard.
Indifference
Great song, good performance. Ed seemed tired, and I don't blame him. Glad I caught this one.
Was hoping for a YL closer...but alas, I'm sure I will get that one on the next go round.
Thanks to all the great fan club members that made up an amazing audience. It was a blast.

I can't even tell you - I have been waiting for Low Light since the YIELD tour!
I am just glad I got a seat in this room in one of the most beautiful states in our USA!
Thank you again Ten Club and Pearl Jam for a spectacular night - seeing a show with less than 7000 will be a rare event for sure!

No idea where to begin with this one. I spent the weekend with amazing friends who have been my rocks over the last couple of years. Had a blast meeting new people and getting to know even more cool PJ fans.
Decided with my two girlfriends to get small tattoos (three crooked hearts) as this was such a special time for us to be together.
The show itself was filled with songs I love...all the comments above cover most of my thoughts.
BUT.....
The "Supporting Sammy" bracelet worn by Mike for the show was a surprise "BEST THING EVER" for me. I wore my Superman Sammy shirt and bracelet because I wanted to talk to Tester about healthcare and share with him about Sammy having leukemia (he's off treatment and doing well) and thanking him (and reminding him to keep going with the healthcare stuff) - September was also childhood cancer awareness month so it felt right at a political event). Anyway, I'm next to Mike but behind him and he turns around and looks straight at my shirt and goes to shake my hand. My bracelet was too big and had fallen over part of my hand so he got it in his and looked at it...I quickly explained what it was and he gave me the BIGGEST hug and then took the bracelet to wear....this made an incredible night the most special moment for me. My Sammy's bright orange band on Mike's wrist at one of the best shows I've ever seen! I can't put it into words properly.
You can see the orange band in some of the photos and videos. It's on his left wrist. I'm still in shock!!

I don't know, I did actually go back to Jersey twice, so that may be more impressive than Hawaii.

Amazing! was front row center, Ed splashed wine on me then filled my cup during Rockin In The Free World. If anyone has video of that, I'll sell my soul!! I was in the PJ blue and Orange jersey!
Josh
I stand corrected…. The “wine incident” was during the last bit of Kick Out The Jams, guess I was delirious from the thrill. Thank you to whoever posted this video on You Tube, you can’t see me but the last 30 seconds shows it, but how cool…..and again if anyone out there has pictures or video of this you would make me a very happy man, so let me know!!!
Now that I’ve touched 5 states to get back home and had time to process my very quick 3 day trip to Missoula I just have to say a few things about the whole experience. The show speaks for it’s self, it was an awesome set, good balance I thought and the band really sounded great. Being front row I never would have guessed Ed was not feeling well until he said something, I personally don’t think it showed till the very end, he started to loose it a bit during Indifference. I saw Jeff mouth to him “Yellow Ledbetter??”, not sure what Ed said back, but I think that was the limit and his voice just couldn’t’ take it. Incredible show, but you do have to wonder if he was 100%.... I think this gig would have been elevated from incredible to legendary. I also knew the place was small, but it wasn't till I saw some of the pictures after just how tiny it was....felt like a big high school gym or field house, what an awesome quasi intimate setting....big enough to just rock, but small enough that I think everyone felt connected in that room.
The little acoustic “mini set” or first encore was certainly the highlight for me. Off He Goes and Man of the Hour are two of my personal favorites and to see them in that setting was a true blessing. Stone seemed more upbeat and smiley than usual, Mike…well Mike is getting more energy as he grows older not less, and Matt deserves a TON of credit, that’s the hardest working man in the band right there folks. You could tell Jeff was giddy to be playing a home town show, and you could also tell the others truly wanted to be there for him and make it great.
I could go on and on about the show but lots of people are doing that, what I will most take away from that weekend was how incredible everyone was in town and at the venue….hell, even before we got to town. We drove from Spokane to Missoula and stopped at a McDonalds in the middle of no where in a little mountain town. We are sitting there eating and a guy just comes up to us all friendly like and is like “Mind if I join you guys for lunch?” Who does that!....very cool.
The staff at the Adams Center deserves a HUGE thank you too. I was there at 4:45 a.m. to get my spot in line and every single person we encountered (with the exception of one dopey kid) was incredible. They made sure we knew what was going on, that we were comfortable; the process getting in was very orderly and safe. They constantly provided cups of water for us in the first row and were just very kind I guess is the word. Only disappointment was how far back the gate was from the stage, but according to security they have had some very very rough shows lately and wanted to make sure they had room to work when all the body surfers came flying over the gate (ha…right), they were prepared for Armageddon and it took all of like 3 songs for them to realize they weren’t going to have any trouble. One guard who started off as the typical “hard ass” was loving it by the end… he kept looking back to watch the show till his boss came over and gave him a firm “eyes on the crowd, not on the band”.
Had a blast meeting some people from the forum as well at our steak dinner on Saturday night, and having some beers around town with more of them and hearing some great stories.
Amazing weekend overall…that’s the stuff that keeps making me come back to shows and travel thousands of miles if need be to see them. Can’t wait for the next one!

Cheers,
Aaron

21st show, been waiting 10 years to hear it live. Thanks guys.
Cheers,
Barger
so...the more I post the higher my lady's blood pressure will go?...sounds about right
Super stoked they sat down and went acoustic in the first encore. Man of the Hour was simply amazing.
Thought for sure I'd hear Crown of Thorns. Next time I hope.

I'm stoked to be a part of this community.
Oh yeah, and.... MIKE MCCREADY!!!
SET 1
Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
ENCORE 1
Last Kiss
ENCORE 2
Wasted Reprise
As we are in the midst of political election season, I feel compelled to remind you that DC is *not* a state, something its citizens would like changed.
Till next time.

I'm still in shock!!

call me when u get to Hawaii ...twice
OMG I see Sammy's bracelet on his wrist...chills and happiness!!!
Mike is just amazing and so generous with his fans

Thanks man that means a lot.

I am pretty sure DC is one of the 57 states Obama has visited
States (and districts)...give us some credit here...we aren't idiots. You knew what we meant.
I don't know, I did actually go back to Jersey twice, so that may be more impressive than Hawaii.
Just kidding New Jersey fans.
Wow. How great is that huh?

Josh.
