    Yay!!

Specifically, if anyone knows of any good bars within walking distance of Grant Park...please PM me. I don't really go out in the Loop - but if there is a PJ friendly neighborhood bar (i.e. aliveone) that would be a cool option too. And if any locals are interested in "scouting" these locations, let me know ;)

oh my god a booza cruise afterwards would rock, im in for that.

Also I would be all for a group rate to the cubs v. mets, though I was checking their site yesterday and they didnt even have any 2 tickets together, only single tix. So I dont know whats going to happen with that.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

    WORD!
    Maggie,
i'm thinking there arent going to be any bars within close walking (4-5 or so blocks in off the lake) distance as everything will most likely shutdown on sunday around 6-8pm
So, we may need to investigate other options
such as EL or cab or bus to something that will be open
or looking into one of the hotels keeping the bar open for us?

    everyone else,
as always, we expect ALOT of input from YOU :D
    so let's hear YOUR ideas

    sure they can :)
no one is forcing anyone to donate anything to charity
that's not a prerequsite to hanging out, having fun, etc
helping out good causes is just icing on the cake :)
    if ya can, ya can
    and if ya can't
    no worries

    EVERYONE is welcome

You're welcome to come to any parties we have and just hang out and not donate a cent and still have a great time. You can go hang out somewhere else and have a good time. It's your perrogative to do what you want. So the answer to your question is "yes".

When you have a large group coming together for a common cause...why not do something positive?

    I don't see a downside.

Enjoy the show, visit old friends/make new ones, make a difference.

For many, it's an extension of that.

For some, it's an opening to get involved.

Maybe by volunteering or donating, they'll be inspired to continue after the show.

Not only that, the parties can shed light on charity organiziations and help them get, not only sizable donations, but also some attention they may not have received otherwise.

    Cheers,

    PBM

If anyone knows of any PJ friendly bars, like bars that have a good PJ jukebox, or a PJ lovin' owner...please PM me, that would be awesome. I know aliveone has the 2003 Chicago boots in their collection...actually, it's a pretty cool bar, they only play boots on their jukebox, and live shows on their tvs.

That's great. IMO everyone should try to be like that. The beauty of doing it in a group; the bigger the group, the bigger the results. But regardless of how big or small the results, the important part is just in the "doing".

And just in case you weren't aware.. Lollapalooza itself is a big supporter of political and humanitarian causes & activism. I believe they are benefiting the Parkways Foundation. So......regardless, you're still going to an event that donates to a charity.

In '06. I recall my Chicago friend saying that McCready has been known to show up at the blues bars (I was wasted and don't remember the one we went to) late night for impromptu jam sessions. Here's to hoping.
