  • Hey guys,

I'm back.. Sorry I was away for a while, but I had to... sleep.. wel I didn;t really, not with the arehnalin pumping through my veins. I just kind of do a side ways dance in a dream like state to various PJ songs.

I've added a few more names to the front page of people who've said they have tickets.

If anything is wrong or needs added PM me!!! I will not be on here 24/7, but I shouldn;t be away for too long at one time.

    There's 42 now!!!!

We used to drink in a weatherspoon's pub in Glasgow that catered for "events" if you had more than 15 people at your "event" you got a finger buffet... The "event" usually consisted of "lets make sure there's more than 15 people drinking tonight and we'll get free food" any chance we could phone the george for similar, or at least to section off an area... that way we have gauranteed seats...

:( this just arrived in my inbox
    Subject: Server outage

    Message:
Attention all Empire-technology/Lowesthost and Empire-hosting customers due to a severe power surge several of our servers are permanently down, primary hosting servers, vps servers, backup servers.

We are working nonstop as we speak to bring replacement servers back online as soon as possible, be advised the surge damaged the backups we had for those servers. hopefully our customers have made backups as we have advised when the setup e-mail is sent out when a new customer signs up.

We sincerely regret any difficulties this unforseen disaster may have caused. we are doing all we can to rectify the situation as fully as humanly possible based upon the uncorrupted undamaged data that is available.

Please be paitient and work with us if you can while we continue to work on the issue, and clear it as soon as we are able.

New servers are being setup as we I write this to you our customers.

We appreciate your business, paitience, and your loyalty during this crises with the damaged servers.

looks bad, but I have a backup ....dunno what to do really...geezz, what did I do to deserve this ...arghhh....sorry.....anyway....keep sending pics....they will fix it right ???? say they will!!!!!!

Wow, what happened here? This thread has grown exponentially! Cool!

Well, I got my hair cut and it's neither porn star nor star wars. It's kind of... messy.

A site with names and pictures would be cool.

Can't wait to see you guys. And Pearl Jam. Woohoo!

Well amazingly I'm going to try not to drink beforehand... well I'll be in the pub and I'm sure I won't take much convincing  but I'd rather not drink too much - once ya start drinking and going to the toilet  . I'd miss the whole fucking concert and I don't wanna have to go to the toilet ONCE

    Hi Guys & Girls

Sorry not have joined in with this a little earlier...

My Man Demon Cleaner put me down for the meet-up, and I'll be more than happy - just gotta get the boss to confirm my day off.

FWIW - The George is a little too small for 30+ people to get to know each other... they stopped playing decent music in there years ago, and most people avoid it before gigs anyway these days.

The old Marquee is a really good pub now - it really opens out when you get inside & can easily accomodate all of us. Plus it sells good grub if I remember rightly.

It's half way down Cahring Cross Road, opposite a big book store & next to the St Martin's Art College/Uni.

I know most have spoken about the George, and I don't wanna be wading-in & just getting on peoples nerves, but I just wanted to flag the other pub as i think it'll be nicer.

Let me know what you all think.

    ROLL ON THE 20TH!
    :)

Midlife crisis?!?!? He was just at the right age to appreciate Pearl Jam when they started. I'm past mid-life crisis and I love them!!!!
  • I'd agree, but he didn't like them when they began, only at Binaural onwards.

It's never too late (or too early!!! My daughter who is 11 loves them and is soooo jealous that I am seeing them)
  • Yeah true, I'd feel so mean if I didn't bring my Dad with me, he's a bigger fan than any of my friends anyway.

Great to have a dad like that. Enjoy your gig!

My Dad's a Rocker too - took me to my first gig (ZZ Top at age 12), and then when I hit the age that I wanted to start to go more gigs, he went with me to see Faith No More.

this is a good idea... there have been a couple o' posters saying that the Royal Gorge is too wee for us all.. i dont know as i havent been

its just that even the smaller bars hee in south Scotland can cater for 40 people... i know it might get a bit crushed but we can spill onto the street and i'm sure with the long meeting time of anything between 12pm-5pm we will all get to have a chance for a meet up and a drink or 4!!

its fuckin hard to try and get everyone to agree to the Gorge but can Scotty just put it in his first post and when Pinon's website is up and running (or someone elses) then the meet details can also be posted there... if the pub does become to small for us we could vacate and go elsewhere but i'd expect it'll be ok....

so once it has been confirmed SIA can amend his first post and we dont have to sift through all these pages for details

Regarding the size of the pub, we'll be meeting quite early, right? Like 2/3pm ish? On a Thursday - there'll be very few people in before us so we can just take over the pub I'd imagine.

This is fair enough then. The George it is.

Think I'll be there about 2, and then grab a bite to eat before another beer & then line-up early to get a good spot.

thats my thoughts exactly... even if it was busy then we'd piss them all off by singing Given To Fly at top of our voices... and us Scots lads will help by flashing the hairy spacehopper to scare away old women hogging the tables drinking Pimms and Campari... or whatever it is old ladies drink these days :)

The Gorge it is... it has been decreed :)

i'll be there around 3ish as I cant check into Travelodge until 3pm... there will be others like me i suppose in this predicament... so i'll be at the pub 3.30ish... bar meal and couple o pints .... ahhh this is gonna be so great
