It looks to me like $2400 is the price to attend the conference, not just to see PJ. Am I reading this wrong?

Just a little insight because I've been to OpenWorld a couple times before for work (I do Oracle admin stuff for my job), Oracle does this every year. They put on a week long conference with technical seminars, training, etc and one night that week they put on a free concert for the conference attendees with multiple music acts, free food & drink, etc. The general public can't buy a ticket just for the Oracle appreciation event (the concerts), you have to be a registered attendee (around $2,500 or so). I think if you are an attendee you can usually buy a guest pass to bring somebody else with you but it's not cheap either (looks like $650 this year).

Anyway, just thought I'd share what I know about it, I've seen a few musical acts there before (Train, Violent Femmes, Lenny Kravitz). The main act usually plays for about an hour or so if I remember right. Definitely crazy for anybody to pay for an OpenWorld pass to go to this but if you work in IT maybe you could try to sweet talk your boss into sending you to this conference this year :D

    U.S. Recipe for 2012:

    Take three parts festivals
Add in one part solo/gig charity
    Add in 20% corporate spinoffs

Mix is really small pot and call it a tour :|

Yes, but my point is that PJ isn't charging $2400. They are playing a show which is part of a package that also includes, the conference, meals, etc.

larry ellsion is the worlds 5th richest person and the 3rd richect in the USA...

between 2000-2010 he was the best paid executive of the decqde and as CEO his compensation in 2008 was $84,598,700...

and he bought and owns 98% of Hawaii's 6th largest island, Lanai

there is nothing wrong with being rich, but considering how the greed and compensation of executives in the US is helping destory the economy eat away at the wages of the average american, it's interesting company the boys are choosing to keep nowadays...
