Nope. sorry, but not letting you change the subject again.

Look, you should really not try to argue on the internet... you're really bad at it.

you just got your butt handed to you by someone with an "alternative lifestyle."

(and like I said, I realize that you're trying to snipe at me saying that but it says a lot more about you than it does about anything else.)

I guess you won't answer the two simple questions because you don't know. You just spew what is fed to you. That's ok. A lot of people are like that. And me spinning it around?? You truly make me laugh and personally I can care less what lifestyle you are...but you keep insisting on bringing that stuff up and posting videos of yourself. :? I didn't know your sexual orientation until YOU SAID IT!! And that wasn't even until late last night?! This discussion has been going on for almost a week so how can I be taking shots at you about that? And about "internet arguing"...I don't argue on the internet...I discuss. SOmething that you are clearly not able to do since you won't answer two simple questions about your stance because you don't know. That's apparent.
  • I think I've made it pretty clear that I'm not interested in debating with someone who changes the subject every time they paint themselves into a corner.

Nor do I really give a toss about debating with someone who uses phrases like "alternative lifestyle" while getting upset at being caled "big man."

So, the old phenomenon of blaming Democrats for big deficits in spite of all facts is in full swing. "Deficit hawk" Paul Ryan voted for bills that contributed to well more than half of the national debt. He never had a problem with the deficit as long as, you know, there was a Republican president in office.

does anyone remember the republican outrage when bush wasted the surplus, attacked a country that was not involved in 9/11 that cost hundreds of billions of dollars and significantly increased the debt all while increasing the deficit through trillion dollar tax cuts???

    that's right....there wasn't any...

And they still have the nerve to scream that people are blaming GW Bush for things he... Like... Did.

I'm still waiting for you to answer the two questions I have posed. Then again, you truly can't and won't. Any point now that I bring up you just paint yourself as a victim even though I wasn't aware of your "lifestyle"...(is that a proper term?) until well into our discussion. And with this, we've discovered how social networking can be the answer to the hundreds of millions from the Koch brothers.

When things are spelled out that clearly... And we all have a few hundred "friends" on Facebook and twitter (I think my current follower number is about 7600), we can spread the word and get it out without the hundreds of millions given by the handful of billionaires determined to spread their vitriol.

Not sure what the alternative is but the constant backbiting between the parties
    is so frustrating.

Before Paul Ryan was picked it was known he was liked by both Republicans and Democrats,
not all of course. Now he is attacked continually because he is a running mate,
    of course.

The super dumb power struggle and blame game that takes place at each election and then
    while in term is unnerving.
Why? why must we have a system doomed to fail like a never ending war?

We need one new ideology to solve the dangerous problems that threaten our country,
one where everyone works together in the best interest of all.
All sacrifice, all negotiate, all realize if we don't all will suffer.

Call that la la land if you like but the cold hard reality is getting
absolutely ridiculous ... where is the common sense?
If we don't come together all is to blame.

Not true. His full-out embrace of Tea Party platitudes, his ring leadership in refusing to increase the debt ceiling (he was instrumental in bringing the nation's credit down), and his Draconian budget have made him very unpopular to most of the country that pays attention and is not in the Tea Party for some time now. His being the running mate obviously brings more attention to all these details.

In other words, those of us who pay attention have disliked Paul Ryan (his policies at least) for some time. People who just figured out who he is and what he really represents clearly are just going to come around to their views at this point.

By the way, Paul Ryan's budget was rebuked by the Catholic Church. I can't believe he got the Catholics to oppose something Republicans did. Sorry the link is from Huffington Post (admittedly a left-leaning website, but the quotes are the quotes).

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/18/ryan-budget-catholic_n_1434919.html
this budget is morally indefensible and betrays Catholic principles of solidarity, just taxation and a commitment to the common good.

Tuesday's statement from the bishops came the same day as Bishop Stephen E. Blaire of Stockton, Calif., called a proposed cut in benefits for children of immigrants "unjust and wrong." Blaire, chairman of the bishops' Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, also decried any cuts in food stamps while preserving federal subsidies for industrial farming enterprises.

"Congress faces a difficult task to balance needs and resources and allocate burdens and sacrifices," Blaire wrote to the House Agriculture Committee. "Just solutions, however, must require shared sacrifice by all, including raising adequate revenues, eliminating unnecessary military and other spending, and fairly addressing the long-term costs of health insurance and retirement programs."

"The House-passed budget resolution fails to meet these moral criteria."

These quotes are from April, long before Ryan's selection as running mate.

I'm finding this the toughest election for me...

So someone who's been caught in about 10 BLATANT lies in the last week since his nomination and a Multi-multi-millionaire and possible billionaire (but we're not sure) against the guy who thinks that the rich should pay their share in taxes and the poor shouldn't suffer and die from strep throat...

and this is a "tough" election for you.

Well... you're just as brilliant and informed as I've always figured you are.

    cheers.
You're not an Independent in the broadest sense  ...
so filled with hate towards the conservatives, there is no question for you
at least this is how you present yourself in every thread.
Just easy peasy for you and those like this are least informed because their minds are made
    before they learn a thing.

I am bright enough to know President Obama has failed... does he deserve four more...
    maybe.

I'm bright enough to know there are filthy rich on both sides of this
and none of them want to pay taxes. The Democrats got their nonprofits, filthy rich,
the Republicans got their corporations, filthy rich.

Neither is for the people they are for the filthy rich.

One party pretends to be and pushes our country to broke with handouts
and taxes from the middle class.
The other party thinks when corporations are healthy our economy will be healthy
and people will be back to work.

This is hard election because I do not trust any of them more and more each year...

As bolded in red... I too have an opinion of you..
its not pretty in fact its pretty negative so I will not go there remembering...
if you can't say something nice shut the fuck up ;)
I mean, don't say anything at all.
Obama's failed because Congress went out of their way to ensure that he failed, even though it meant that Americans would suffer for it.

So can you explain what you meant by that?

The spin in the article about him being homophobic and that's why he voted against it. Did anyone ever consider ANY other factors in that article? Nope. That website just wanted people to believe the only reason he voted against it was becasue he was a homophobe. Which is fair...it's a site for people of an alternative lifestyle. I'm sure I can find websites that detailed why he voted against it for several other reasons ie. economic, etc.

Again, I'm still waiting for your definition of people with the money? :corn:
I don't want to get too into this conversation, but I think it's pretty clear that Ryan is against gay rights - his voting record proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt. And in my opinion, being against gay rights makes a person homophobic.

Yeah, it's not a good word, I'll agree with you there. A new term needs to be invented, because "phobic" just doesn't make sense. But anyway... semantics. We all know what is meant by it through context.

Earlier this year, every House Republican and 16 Democrats voted for a bill that would have rewritten the rape exception in federal abortion funding bans by inserting the phrase “forcible rape,” words eerily similar to Mr. Akin’s notion of “legitimate rape.” Among the 227 co-sponsors was Rep. Paul Ryan, now Mitt Romney’s running mate. The bill never made it to the Senate floor; let’s hope the same will be said for Mr. Akin and his unacceptable views.
