  • who is out there at chick fil a appreciation day? the christians. who mobilized that movement? mike huckabee, a christian. who funded the opposition to prop 8? the christians. who makes up the westboro baptist church? christians, so yeah where is the love for their neighbors as themselves?

    That's pretty much it.

while they all claim this was about "free speech" and the "chilling" government telling them what they can "think," we all know that when local governments blocked private movie theaters from showing Brokeback Mountain or when the lesbian nature retreat in Virginia was denied a permit to open, none of those people were lining up to support "free speech."

exactly. they fail to realize that boycotting is free speech too. jesus would boycott them too.

the people promoting chick fil a by taking pics of themselves there and posting them on social media remind me of teenagers who are just doing things to get a rise out of people. gotta love that hatred thinly veiled and hidden with a smile...

And it's fun to point out that CFA uses Coke as their drink supplier... they're Pro-equality. Condiments by Heinz (owned by John Kerry's wife), they used Apple or Microsoft phones to take the pictures... used wireless supplied by ATT, Sprint or TimeWarner... so the gays really made a killing that day.

cfa would not report that part though. all they would do is talk about how much they rang that day.

This is the funny part to me.

Also, let's not forget that he not only donates money as an individual he also has CFA donate money as a corporation. The point is you're money is going to support hate groups. If you're fine with that the go right ahead but be honest about why you're there.

while he has the right to "say" anything or "think" anything he wants, people also have the right to say anything back. "Free Speech" is a two way street. The Palins and Bachmanns of the world forget that "freedom of speech" doesn't mean that you can say anything without having a public backlash when you say it.

Ask Carrie Prejean how saying something unpopular worked out for her.

    This isn't about "free speech."

Dan Cathy has donated over 5 MILLION dollars to three separate groups, two of which are recognized as Hate Groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They include groups that encourage forcing "reparative therapy" on teenagers, deporting "known homosexuals," doing away with any and all legal protections of the GLBT community and making gay sex illegal. None of that "supports traditional marriage." So we can drop that silly meme right now.

When he donates money to attack my family, that's no longer "an opinion" or "disagreeing" on some concept or theory. It's my family and our rights and protections under the law.

Did he say he "hated" anyone? No. he doesn't have the guts to admit that. But his actions make it pretty clear.

The good news is that this week we learned the extreme conservative right has been reduced to a mob of slovenly high school bullies who have only one national chain left to rally around. They show up and pay each other on the back as they make the bold political move of... buying lunch. :fp:

    1. Parents have the right to raise their children as they see fit.
    2. Any group that does not condone the gay life style is automatically added on their list has a hate group. For that reason The Southern Poverty Law Center really does not carry much weight. In fact many see THEM as a hate group.
    3. Deporting Homosexuals or illegal immigrants?
    4. Sodomy used to be illegal but in many states it has been become legal. So I do not see how he has change anything for the worst to affect your life.
“When he donates money to attack my family, that's no longer "an opinion" or "disagreeing" on some concept or theory. It's my family and our rights and protections under the law.”
How has he attacked your family?…
Do you have any references to this……
do you have teenagers….someone in your family been deported?

Do people that do not condone this gay life style have the same rights? Not everyone has the same morals and in America we are all free under the law to practice as we see fit and raise our children as we want. Why do the GLBT groups keep shoving there beliefs in my face, and my family’s face?

Mr Cathy is a follower of God’s word, those that are true followers love all God’s children, they do not condone anything and everything that the world has to offer but does anyone else?
Using the Westborough Church as an example of how Christians act is like saying all Muslim’s are terrorist right?

What a lot of folks seem to be missing is that Chick-fil-A has an anti-discrimination policy and the organization does not have a record of mistreating employees over sexual orientation. Additionally, Chick-fil-A does not check someone's sexual orientation at the door before deciding whether or not to allow someone to purchase their products.

Some people might also say that Ben & Jerry's should be boycotted because the founders and the company support very far-left organizations. If you don't agree with Ben & Jerry's then just don't buy their ice cream.

Even Rahm Emanuel has walked back his statements about keeping Chick-fil-A from opening additional locations in Chicago. He knows that he was wrong.

This has all been blown out of proportion and until someone shows that CFA discriminates against homosexuals, this is a non-issue.

This has nothing to do with anything we're talking about here, but, here goes...
A long time ago I was banging this gal. She was married and because of her Christian faith, believed that adultery only applied to vaginal intercourse. So, the other two inputs were fair game. I could still do oral sex on her, too... because that was somehow okay and not a clear violation of Adultery Commandment.
Anyway, she was pretty devoted to her religion and often told me she prayed for us. I felt bad for her husband, poor unsuspecting sot. Me? I really didn't care much because I was single and by her being married, she couldn't be too clingy to me. So, I didn't have the hassles of a girlfriend, but still had sex on a semi-regular basis.
Of course, we eventually split because we both knew it wasn't going to pan out. She was a bit sad that her religion didn't take root with me... me being a fornicating heathen and all. Don't get me wrong, she was very nice and I like her company and such... but, to me... that whole, 'As long as you don't bang my pussy, God's cool with it' thing never made much sense to me. Hope she is happy and well.
The only reason why I brought this up is because you reminded me of butt-f*cking her.

    1. Parents have the right to raise their children as they see fit.

I agree. Which is why it's sad to me that groups that he's donated to have sponsored bills to take that right away from gay and lesbian couples. (source)

    2. Any group that does not condone the gay life style is automatically added on their list has a hate group. For that reason The Southern Poverty Law Center really does not carry much weight. In fact many see THEM as a hate group.

Untrue. Only groups that intentionally spread misinformation are added to that list. The Southern Poverty Law Center is in no way opposed to the invigorating clash of ideas in the public forum.

    3. Deporting Homosexuals or illegal immigrants?

The Family Research Counsel have supported laws to deport legal US immigrants and denying work visas to gay people. Which would include my husband. They have also supported the law in Uganda which would make being gay punishable by death.

    4. Sodomy used to be illegal but in many states it has been become legal. So I do not see how he has change anything for the worst to affect your life.

"Sodomy" is legal in all 50 states thanks to the Supreme Court. Although Dan Cathy given millions to Focus on the Family that have tried to over-turn that decision. Focus on the Family also have opposed anti-bullying laws, were a major financial supporter of Proposition 8 that voted away my marriage AND believes that broadcasters shouldn't be allowed to have content that opposes "Christian Values." So much for "Free Speech."

Most of all, demoting my 20-year union with Carlo to nothing more than "Sodomy" is rude, cruel and obnoxious. A family isn't just for sex. It's for love and support and building and sharing a life and home together. I would think that someone who goes on about "God's Word" would know that.

Do you call your mother "that woman my Dad's fucking?"

How has he attacked your family?…
Do you have any references to this……
do you have teenagers….someone in your family been deported?

well, I can't sponsor my husband of 20 years for a green card and citizenship. So he has to return to Canada once a year (rather expensive trip) to renew his T1 Visa. Which can be denied at any time. And if he should lose his job or get laid off or the firm he works for goes under, he has 8 days to leave the country. This is a HUGE problem for bi-national couples.

Do people that do not condone this gay life style have the same rights? Not everyone has the same morals and in America we are all free under the law to practice as we see fit and raise our children as we want. Why do the GLBT groups keep shoving there beliefs in my face, and my family’s face?

I don't recall voting on wether or how you can raise kids. Can you point me to a bill or a vote that would tell you how to raise your children? I can, however, point to many bills and votes and laws that tell me how I can live and if I can raise children... who's shoving what down who's throat again?

You ask if we all have the same rights? No. We don't. Your family has many rights and protections and responsibilities and perks that my family doesn't. And all I want is to be on the same legal ground as you.

(Gay isn't a "lifestyle." I am not a lifestyle, I'm a human and we're a family. There isn't gay lifestyle anymore than there is a straight lifestyle.)

Mr Cathy is a follower of God’s word, those that are true followers love all God’s children, they do not condone anything and everything that the world has to offer but does anyone else?

For the life of me I can't figure out what the hell you mean here. And funny how "God's Word" is something that everyone seems to disagree on but he feels it necessary to make his "God's Word" the law of the land.

Using the Westborough Church as an example of how Christians act is like saying all Muslim’s are terrorist right?

Who said anything about Fred Phelps?

First of all, GF, sublime use of smileys there, if there is such a thing. No sarcasm intended.

Secondly, cosmo, are you serious? How dumb was that girl? In some twisted, weird, way, I could see how a non-married person might be able to convince themselves that getting plugged in the bum didn't count as "sex" in the Biblical sense (lol, is there another kind?), but a married woman? That is one unprecedented self-mindfuck job she did to line up a moral code that allowed her to do that stuff as a married woman and have it "not count" in the Biblical sense.

Scary part... she was smart and funny and attractive and very likable.
It was that really, really strange rationale or justification that oral and anal sex was not really sex sex... so it wasn't really adultery. Oh, and there was also the excuse that since I wasn't married, I wasn't cheating on anyone... therefore, not an adulterer, so she wasn't violating the adultery clause. Odd, isn't it?
The other funny thing... she told me she was a virgin when they got married. Which.... technically, she was... i suppose. I guess her hyman was still intact. As for the lips and the bunghole... not so much.
I just thought that whole purity thing was all mixed up. She used to cry, telling me she worried about me burning in Hell and shit because i didn't believe. She told me how she prayed all the time, for me and my soul. That's probably where I started that, 'No need to pray for me.... I'm okay. Pray for the kid who just died from starvation. He needs your praryer more than I do' thing.

Kind of odd how that religious thing works sometimes, huh?

that in a nutshell is the essence of many religions ... self-rationalization of a faith to overlook the hypocrisies ...

I knew a couple in college that wanted to wait to have sex until they were married. So they only did anal. These morons are all around us.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Even religion aside, that kind of rationalizing applies to how many teenagers (even younger?) think as well. Hell, it apparently also worked for Clinton and Lewinsky :P

i want to qualify my statement with ... we all do this in one form or another ... hypocrisy rules most of our lives ... if we don't see that in ourselves - we are most likely not looking very hard ...
