60 million dollar fine
4 year bowl ban
Loss of 10 scholarships per year for 4 years
All wins vacated from 1998 to 2011 which removes 112 wins from Paternos record which now places him 12th all time with 298 wins.

Will any of that fine go toward helping the victims?

The funds will go into an endowment for external programs preventing child sexual abuse or assisting victims and may not be used to fund such programs at the university.

That's a pretty damn good ruling by the NCAA. Bravo.

I thought they did a great job with this, especially vacating all wins from 1998.

Yeah, that's gonna sting. They loved that Bowden had wins vacated which helped give Paterno the record. (although eventually he had the record anyway, guess not anymore)

Hopefully the $60M is truly put to good use.

Welp...looks like my grandfather has officially seen his last meaningful Penn State football game.

Needless to say I don't agree with the vacated wins, but whatever.

Saddy Valley...how do those idiots who rioted this past fall feel now that it's pretty clear Joe Pa was in on the coverup from the beginning?

Sends a very strong message. This is the most important piece in my opinion.

I also hope to see them step up their sexual violence awareness and bystander intervention programs throughout the school, and I hope every college and university follows that lead.

I dunno. I like them taking away Paterno's wins since 1998 because he deserves any disgrace that the NCAA or anybody else wants to throw at him. But the $60 million dollar fine is stupid. They should donate that money to child-abuse victims or something. As for the four-year bowl ban....I don't think this team is gonna be making any bowls in the coming years anyway.

I think the 60M is going into an endowment for abused children (could have read it wrong)

They said they are donating the $60M towards exactly that kind of thing.

I think they did a great job with the rulings.

Although we can't go back in time and change what happened to those kids, I think negating the wins allows us to go back in time and take away the good things that they did not deserve.

What would make you think Penn State would not make a bowl game? There are so many of them.
I blame the NCAA for making college sports(football and basketball) what they are today. More important then education. The big hype. The big bowl game. The additional bowl games. Money Money Money

Who will oversee the $60 million and ensure it goes to a good cause without some of it ending up in a NCAA executive pocket?

I don't get vacating the wins. Again, this situation provided no on field benefit. I say let the wins stand as they are. Hell, Auburn won a national title with a player who;s dad received $. And nothing happens? The NCAA are a bunch of showboating hypocrites. I hate that organization with a passion. They don;t care about competition on the field, they care about $ and looking good. They did this to look good and tough when in reality they have failed to do anything to make sure that the competition on the field has integrity.

I think the 4 year post-season ban is a pretty good idea. Re-focuses the football program on what really matters and takes away the chance at any significant revenue.

I think they should have put the football team on a 1 year television ban. And the BIG TEN should announce that Penn State will not receive their portion of the televison rights $ - it will go to charity.

The scholarship hit doesn't seem bad, but then again, all you are doing is taking $ away from kids that need it to attend school so I don't really care about that.

It will be interesting to see what the loss in revenue does to the Olympic sports that are funded by the football program.

Tom Bradley's win last year as the interim coach still counts so whoever quarterbacked that game is the answered to your trivia question
