picked up the sporting news baseball preview magazine last week and their World Series prediction is just like 1945 except they have the Cubs beating the Tigers.

The Sporting News picks the Cubs to win the World Series?

How Many bongs were they smoking when they came up with that prediction?
love the optimism but pump the brakes a little bit, they're still very young and very raw. I have high hopes for Babe Bryant, though

Besides Lester, i didn't know they also picked up Kershaw and Felix Hernandez too. How else would the Sporting News pick the Cubs to win the WS?

    Exactly

    If the Cubs finish .500
They should have a ticker tape parade downtown.

    Take me piece by piece.....

  • A young team full of enthusiasm, adreneline and optimism? A kinda new playground?
Someone who actually uses the words World Series and Cubs in the same sentence, trying their damnedest to live up to those expectations? That's one hell of a motivator.

What's wrong with having the highest of hopes?

    GO CUBS!
    Nice shirt.

Thank you. I love the eternal optimism of spring, a new baseball season. Even if their reputation proceedes them, the buzz surrounding the Cubs this year seems different, more confident, much more hopeful and enthusiastic.

Why not focus on that mindset for a change? Attitude truly can make all the difference.

2 Upper Deck seats, for a random game in June, on a Thursday.
    Total $135

    Just fucking ridiculous.

This team hasn't won a damn thing in over 100 years.
I remember when I would get so excited when tickets went on sale.

    Not anymore.

I can get right behind the the visitors dugout in Altlanta when the cubs play the braves for about $65 a seat. I try to make it to there every year when they go to Altanta. I missed last year because they went there opening weekend and I had to work.

Anyway, it's cheaper than a trip to Wrigley.

When going to the ballgame costs $200.
For shitty upper deck seats and a couple hot dogs?

Its time for me to no longer go to the ball game.

    Million dollar athletes.
Fans can no longer afford to go to the game.
    Its a damn shame.

You go to Cub games to be at Wrigley Field, not to see (more like hope)the Cubs win.
So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)

I've see about 30 cub games in my late including 2 playoff games and have only seen them lose 2 or 3 times.

I'm going to go ahead and say it, you'll see the Cubbies win a World Series in your life time. Why? Theo. it's a business plan. You're gonna pay, and dearly, but you will revel in the delight. And I too shall rejoice.

    Peace.

Will they still be doing the bleacher construction during home games in April and May?
Will the construction crews still be working as the games are going on?

I realize the construction goes on until June.
What I mean is will they be digging and pounding and building and making a ruckus, as the games are going on? Or will they take days off during homestands, and continue the work when the Cubs hit the road?

Good question. I'm guessing they would be since they have to abide by the time restrictions from the city on when they can do work. It's a real clown act over there right now.
