Nice to kick the cards ass, especially after they hit Wood on purpose. I doubt Wood wanted to hit 2 cards in one inning and let the cards back in it with a 7 run lead, but first pitch to Wood next inning the punk ass Cards hit him on purpose, even the ESPN guys said it was on purpose. It starts with Molina and Matheny as they are just dirty. Glad we stuck it to them.

Intentional or not, if you hit 2 guys in 1 inning, you gotta expect the other team to come right back at you and plunk one of your guys.

The cubs just named Manny Ramirez as player/coach of their triple A Iowa team. Seriously?

For an organization that's done a ton of embarrassing shit in my life, this one ranks up there. He is the last guy I want teaching our top prospects anything. First hes a disgrace for cheating multiple times and should be banned for life. Secondly he was awful outfielder on d and didnt take the game seriously. Great role model for prospects. Another stupid move by this organization.

Guys that make it to the show come straight from that team in Iowa. Steroids or not, the guy was a great hitter. But I just don't see that guy being able to teach prospects how to hit or even manage a game. Does Theo make that decision?

I think the manny thing is pretty awesome. Dude was a fucking phenomenal hitter. I think it is really cool that he wants to do it.

Yeah I mean why would you want one of the best hitters of a generation teaching your prospects?

This just seems like a bad decision by the Cubs. Yes, Manny was an outstanding hitter but he also has a less than stellar reputation as on overall player/teammate. Just seems like a big risk for the Cubs to take and this will probably end poorly for the Cubs. Given our recent history, we should be trying to avoid more bad PR.

I think they are trying to avoid messing up his development by calling him up too soon.
    (Remember Brett Jackson?)

So Jeff Samarjiza turned down an $85 million dollar contract?
This ASSHOLE who in 7 years with the Cubs has posted a total of
    31 wins
    41 losses
has turned down a contract offering him $17.5 million dollars a year?

I would give that piece of shit his unconditional release today, and tell him to go to hell.

I am actually glad that he passed on the Cubs offer. I am not sold on Samarjiza as a #1 pitcher and I think the Cubs can get a lot back for him in a trade.

We just need to move him soon before he has "shoulder stiffness" or a "sore elbow". You would think the Cubs would have learned from past pitchers that they have wanted to trade

I guess he was at Murphy's last night. One of my friends texted me that, but it was 10pm and I was already sleeping.

Javier Baez on his way to the Cubs!

If he performs, the Cubs will be starting to build a nice your core of players. Now we just need some pitching.
