Many teams make uniform errors. It happens in every sport at least a few times per season. What makes my beloved Cubbies a half-assed team is the lack of fundamentals displayed almost inning-ly by the players. Last night they had 15 hits and lost 4-3. Bonifacio at one point had more hits in the game than the entire Pirates roster. Yet no moves were made to advance runners (with the exception of Boni's 2 stolen bases). No one went to the mound to strangle calm down Veras when he loaded the bases with a 1 run lead and a save opportunity on the line. Anthony Rizzo looks like he spent the entire month of March perfecting his golf swing. He bites every single pitch that goes down in the dirt. Starlin Castro has no idea how to run the basepath. He's always looking back over his shoulder instead of trusting his base coaches. I could run this team from my couch better than these coaches have been doing the last 3 seasons. First day of Dyer as manager, we spend 8 hours learning how to fucking lay a bunt down. And every time you don't succeed in advancing the runner, you take 5 laps around grounds. I don't give a shit if you puke your guts out. You'll learn to fucking bunt. Day 2... patience at the plate.

DYER FOR MANAGER! YA HEAR THAT, THEO!

I know it is only one game but there were a lot if positives from last night.
The youngsters (Rizzo, Olt and Lake) played well and Castro seems to be playing more aggressively.
Hammel looks like he could be a nice sign and trade guy this year to bring in some more young talent.

Another 1 run loss. The bullpen is awful.

Also, is it that hard to find someone who plays 2B who can hit more than .200. I know Barney is a gold glover but his bat is brutal

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I started watching the cubs when I was 7. I used to get so upset after every loss. Now I am 40, and I am ok with dying before a world series. I just have to yell every once in awhile.
The worst of times..they don't phase me,
even if I look and act really crazy.

I think I am finally over the Carlos Marmol flashbacks from Friday night's game. Two run lead in the bottom of the ninth and your closer hits TWO batters and walks another one.

Veras was awful - I am glad he is out as closer.

Hey Kid, for a normal game you just need to be there an hour before first pitch and you can get good bleacher seats. Hell, these days you can just walk up right before and find a good spot! For more popular games, I'd suggest 1.5-2 hours before first pitch.

If MItch Williams was "Wild Thing" what the fuck does that make Veras? How he ever got the closing job to begin with is well beyond me. 26 career saves and 14 blown saves in his career leading up to this season. 23 batters faced this year and he's walked 7, hit 3, & given up 2 hits. More than half the batters he's faced have got on base.. 5 runs in 3 2/3 nnings. This dude is absolute garbage and they're paying him nearly $4million. For fuck's sake if they needed someone to go out there and throw junk, I'd've done it for league minimum.
