The Cubs are in desperate need of catching help after All-Star Willson Contreraslandedon the injured list Monday with a hamstring injury that will sideline him for four weeks. Once Contreras went down, the Cubs were left with just two catchers - Victor Caratini and Taylor Davis - on their 40-man roster; both backstops are currently on the team's major-league roster.
Lucroy, 33, slashed .242/.310/.371 with seven homers and 30 RBIs in 74 games with the Angels this year. He missed a large portion of July due to a concussion and fractured nose he suffered in a home-plate collision.
I’ve accepted the cubs for what they are. A very mediocre team. That’s okay. Put them in any other division and they’re several games out. Cubs = a very average team.
Yep. The division is “so competitive” because everyone is mediocre except for the Pirates, they just suck. But they were up to mediocre level before the AS break. And I hate to say it but, at this point I feel STL, MIL, & CIN would all represent the division better in the postseason than the Cubs could.

The worst of times..they don't phase me, even if I look and act really crazy.

True story

While the quirkiness certainly annoys me at times, and the constant lineup changes & bullpen management are questionable, he does have a way of keeping the clubhouse non-toxic. And with the exception of two players who can be nicknamed "Monty," the guys all seem to love playing for him. Somehow he keeps the Cubs in competition despite themselves. If they land a playoff spot, I say no doubt he'll be back for at least 2-3 more years. He'd be the first manager to lead the Cubs to 5 straight postseasons, and he'd do so in his first 5 years.

That game last night was great. How have they only done this for 3 years? They should have tied in a major league game, to coincide with the little League World Series, since the beginning of time. That was so much fun to watch.
Even if those ESPN announcers were/are BRUTAL!!!
Good lord they are hard to listen to.
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
I dig games like this. The Field of Dreams game also. They really missed a golden opportunity to do the FOD game this year, being it's the 100th anniversary of the Black Sux. MLB should do more games like these. Get the fuck out of London though!

I asked if he would put money on: the bullpen becoming lights out OR the offense being consistently good, to which he replied:
even if I look and act really crazy.
