Congrats to Bryant!! Rookie of the year followed up with mvp and a championship. More importantly he appears to be a humble class act which is hard to find these days with superstars.
That's what I really love more than anything about this team! With the exception of a few (Lackey, Chapman, La Stella) they all seem to have a good degree of humility. Honestly, I believe that was the key component to them winning it all. Of course Maddon is the ring leader, but a lot of that can be reflected upon Rizzo and Bryant - the obvious leaders of this team. And contribute a lot of their leadership to having David Ross in the clubhouse. Those two look up to him so much and have matured well beyond their years these last two seasons! You can have the best players in the game, but if you don't have the attitude, you'll rarely come away champions.
Just bought some Chicago Cubs World Series Champions Brut champagne. Does champagne age, or go bad? Chicago Cubs will now have the most expensive tickets in baseball. Rizzo should have gave that ball to someone else.
The worst of times..they don't phase me, even if I look and act really crazy.

You can typically age a non-vintage sparkling wine (what we call Champagne) for 2-3 years, as long as it is properly refrigerated or cellared. But aging it is often frowned upon as sparkling wine & Champagne are sold ready to drink, and keeping them cellared will result in loss of carbonation. Once opened, you can keep refrigerated for another 2-3 days as long as you re-seal the bottle. Use a wine vacuum or champagne stopper.

Thanks. So do I drink this stuff, or let it become an undrinkable souvenir?

Drink it! Celebrate the new year with a piece of something good from this year. It's meant to be enjoyed. The bottle ends up looking the same on the shelf empty as it does full in the end.

No hes not. But he doesn't have to air out his dirty laundry. They all got the ring.
Didn't he tell Maddon he was ready as much as he needed him in game 7? Thought i remember him saying he could go 3 innings. Maddon messed up pulling Hendricks early for no reason. Still it's pretty bush league to say you can do something, fail at it, then blame someone else since you sucked. Good riddance.

People are blowing this wayyyyy out of proportion. Did you guys read the article or just reacting to the headline? What he said wasn't that bad at all.
Just got the World Series Film bluray yesterday & watched it last night. Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed in it. I mean, it was cool to hear the players thoughts and all, but I expected it to be a little more behind the scenes than it was and more about the season-long journey. At least that's what the description on the back of the case leads you to believe. It's pretty much just a game by game color commentary of peak moments in the series. Only a handful of Cubs are in it - Zobrist, Bryant, Rizzo, Lester, Hendricks, Ross, Fowler, Chapman, Theo, & Tom. I think Grimm had a line or two. They quickly glossed over Montero's series winning RBI as if it were an afterthought. Vince Vaughn narrating was a nice touch, though.

would've been cool to have a extra commentary track by a drunk Bill Murray.

Catcher Buster Posey has moved on after his Giants blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning of a 6-5 loss in Game 4 of the National League Division Series that allowed the Cubs to avoid a Game 5 against Johnny Cueto and instead advance to the NL Championship Series.
"That was our goal," Posey said last month in regards to forcing a fifth and deciding game of the NLDS at Wrigley Field. "Everyone wanted to see that game. I would have loved to have been a part of Game 5. I wanted to come out on top, but it would have been a fun game.
"Hats off to those guys. They had a heck of a run. I don’t think anyone could complain about that World Series. Even if you weren’t a big baseball fan, you had to be entertained with the way that turned out."

In my 25 years of fandom, these games will be my first at Wrigley. I've seen more concerts at Wrigley than games... That begins to change this year.
