I don't always want to sound like a contrarian but baseball is boring and if it wasn't because the forever EV loved cubs in this series no one cares. Cubs got their ass kicked tonight.
Perhaps they need Murray duck singing to them for a rally.
What do ya say? Some day the cubs will go all the way.

  • Some friendly advice for fellow Chicagoans in my city. Next year wait until they actually win it all before excessive celebration and you fly the W flag when they win. It boggles my mind people don't know this. Put your flags away and bring them back out when the get the win, you know, the W.

Well, the good news is that Fall Out Boy will join the ranks of Steve Bartman and the goat.

Only way the Cubs win is if Eddie comes out and plays Sometimes / Lukin

Excessive celebration? Really? Are you an NFL ref? The cubs hadn't been to the series in 71 years. It's an accomplishment that deserves celebration.

It's a fair critique. I don't blame the fans for going crazy and it's probably impossible for the players to avoid getting caught up in all of it, but I would've thought the team would tone it back a little from last year.

Strangest thing I've EVER seen. The words World Series on the billboard outside Wrigley. Surreal!!

Thank god Lester was hitting there and not Schwarber...because strategy and you may get a very exciting mound visit later...

Meant to post this in the mlb thread

You guys go through all your Tums last night? :anguished:

I was actually quite calm last night. After sitting in a Chicago bar to watch game 4, and having nearly the same feeling I've had every time the Cubs are in the postseason, last night was really a day off from the normal Cub fandom troubles. If they would have lost, well, then it's really no different a feeling than the first 36 years of my life. If they win, then I get to see the Cubs play for the first time in November.

It's going to be nice, hopefully, to have Schwarber's bat back in the linuep. I like our chances to push this to 7 games. I'm not optimistic about facing Kluber again, but we have a good recent history of facing an ace on short rest.

Absolutely amazing experience to see the Cubs win a World Series game at Wrigley. The Harry/Eddie duo was absolutely beautiful. The loudest Go Cubs Go I've ever heard. Was pretty disappointed at one point though. 1 out in the 8th inning, Chapman pitching with Cubs up 1 and every other section but ours, 223, and one next to us 222 was standing. 90% of our section was sitting. I was standing and wasn't having it. I stood up and yelled "Get up, get off your asses, it's the World fn Series" People finally got up and stayed up. Got about a dozen people thank me after the game. #getittowednesday

Section must have been filled with the same group of low number 10 clubbers who ruin every Pearl Jam show down front.

I was seriously in shock. Thinking are you fn kidding me people. You know how many people are on the streets at home or bars who would kill to be here? Our season is on the line, this is the last time this team will be in this ballpark and they are fighting for their playoff lives. Get off your ass and stand up and cheer them on! I was im the same seats Friday and none of the people around me were the same.
