It seems that running the bases would be more of a rush than playing the field. Makes no sense.

I disagree. Running the bases is a more deliberate act. In the outfield with the grass, much easier to slip. As much as I want his bat for 4 plate appearances in the next 3 games, I want it for 500 next year. And the year after. He's enough of a threat to pinch hit at this point. That is absolutely going to affect the next 3 games.

  • That's okay...Schwarber for 4 out of 7 complete ges and used once in each if the remaining 3 games is more Schwarber than we ever thought we see as of 2 weeks ago. I'll take it.

Just had a couple of people message me about Murphy's on Saturday. I plan on getting there between 11 and noon. Talked to a buddy of mine who was having a couple beverages there last night. He said there were a ton of people around the ballpark last night. He used the number 300K. He also said if you're there early, like I plan to be, he doesn't see a problem getting in. All that said, with Murphy's being one of the few not charging a cover, I expect it to be ridiculous. On the off chance that it's not, I'll do my best to secure a table or some sort of standing room near a table for those that are there early enough to walk in and meet up. When I get in and settled, I'll post a pic of where I'm at and hopefully you'll be able to find me.

WGN was there so that is part of the reason, so assume it may clear out a bit and everyone isn't drinking for 12 hours before the game.

  • Mike and Mike were at cubby bear this morning as well. I'm sure that brought in a good size early crowd.

Thanks so much man. We won't be getting into town until around 12:30 and once we get to the hotel and then down to Wrigleyville it'll probably be 2pm... I'm not holding my breath but if you're somehow able to lock down a spot and we're able to get there, I'll be eternally grateful.

Bill Murray will be singing during the 7th inning stretch tonight. Hopefully fox will air it. I'd be willing to bet eddie gets asked to do this for games 2 or 3.

  • Over or Under '100' on the number of people who enjoyed themselves all day a little more than intended with all of the excitement and end up passing out before the game tonight?
I hope under but gotta go with over.

Why would we complain? Calls were going our way.
  • Yah, the umpiring is for sure "better" if you are a Cubs fan.
That Bill Murray seventh inning stretch was great. EV has something to try and top if he is asked to do it.

Contreas has to take that pitch on Couglin's steal attempt.

Pretty bummed we won't be able to win it all while I'm there now... oh well, gotta focus on taking the series lead back.

Truly amazing/unbelievable experience. Best atmosphere I've ever seen for a sporting event. Insanely intense game. Ending just stunk.

Night was not a total loss. Seats were twoards the back of the lower level where if you looked up you could see the catwalk right behind the suites. During one of the pitching changes my wife starts hitting me and yelling my name while pointing to the catwalk. Sure as shit who's walking by, Eddie, probably going to Theo's suite. We both screamed Eddie, he stopped for a second, looked at both of us, raised his arm up and smiled. Amazing moment among many tonight that I'll never forget. Hope to beat em tomorrow so when Im lucky enough to go back Sunday Cubs can hopefully go up 3 - 2.
