Good lord did the umpiring suck or what. Pretty even, but more inconsquential for the Cubs. The AGon call at the plate was huge and a couple bad pitch calls when the Dodgers had a little something going.

Bats waking up could be trouble, but it's still anybody's series. Lester going tonight gives them the edge, but if LA pulls it out, Cubs are on the ropes. And even if they win, that really pumps up the pressure.

Agreed. I thought the replay crew bailed out Heyward's nonchalant throw on that play. I think the strike zone from Hernandez was a little different that we'd seen so far in the series, definitely called the low strike.....but, then again, IT IS Angel Hernandez - he's going to leave his mark on a game one way or the other.

Huge game for the Cubs. Needed to get the bats going like that. We'll see if it translates to continued success, but when they got going like that in the regular season, it usually meant rattling off about 5-7 straight wins.

    Gotta have Lester tonight.

Was listening to Pat & Ron on the radio last night. Talking about Heyward's at-bat Coomer says "What would be good for Heyward is to hit a ground ball at Chase Utley or, better yet, past him." I was like, ground ball to second? Oh he sooooooo fucking has this!

At the end of the Cubs 3rd...
    Pat says..."The Cubs can't buy a run"

He sounded as if he wanted to cry. He was so upset, just like the rest of us.

    Lester tonight?

I really think this is what gives us the edge tonight. If he's on his game, we should be headed to Wrigley needing to win just 1 of 2.

This is the time for Lester to shine, and show why he is one of the favorites for the Cy Young award.

I expect to see him dominate a team, who has not hit lefties all year.

His average and RBI production sucked ass for the most part but at least he gave us 20-30 HRs a year.

It was just rough at that time because we expected him to be able to help carry the team. I'd gladly take a Jason Heyward with Soriano's stats with this lineup around him.

We were expecting a 30-30 guy when we signed him. Pretty sure he had a 40-40 season prior to the Cubs signing him. What we got was a clown who could no longer run, was a defensive liability, missed 30 games a year for various reasons, and was overpaid by $5- $10 million a year. But why the hell are we discussing this bozo? Haha

    Go Lester!

Jhey has been clueless at the plate this series. So has Soler at the plate as well as on D. To me you have 2 options, if you want O, play Contreras in LF and Zobrist in RF. If you value D, Zobrist in LF and Almora in RF.

Because at this point it's fun to look back and laugh since we're on the brink. Haha. I understand what we were expecting to get and what we didn't get, but Heyward didn't even live up to a bad Soriano year this year.

Heyward at 6'5 of Solid muscle reminds me of a Dave Winfield. Heyward should be bouncing balls off the buildings on Shefield. But this clown can't hit the ball out of the infield. It's strange.

It really is strange. For the most part, even when it "looks" like he hits a ball solid it goes absolutely nowhere.

what's weird is I was at his first Major League start in Atlanta.
He was so hyped up and he did produce for a while. especially that day off of ZambraNO
    it's a mystery to me.

  • Enough talk of Heywards dumbass...

Im gonna say Rizzo hits another bomb tonight.
Bryant has a few more hits.
    Baez does something special too.
And Lester will be "lights out"

Dodgers will lay down a few bunts.
Since after 10 years in big league ball, Lester still can't manage to throw a ball to 1st base.

    Which is just fucking strange.
