Obviously there are enormous bullpen issues right now. Couple that with the starters not performing well and defensive woes and you begin to affect team chemistry.
The real tanking began when Fowler went down. They have been awful since that point. Fowler gets back in there and things should start getting better. If he is performing in that leadoff spot, it frees up LaStella for the bench...not leadoff. Hopefully a trade or two will then finally solidify that bullpen."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0 -

So a few days rest is going to turn Arietta back in to Superman?
A few days rest is going to turn our bullpen back to average? Instead of garbage?
Damn, I hope so.Take me piece by piece.....

Here's hoping the break gets them back on track for a big 2nd half. As for j hey i think keeping him in the 6 hole will help. Pitching is what has me nervous.HesCalledDyer said:A few days rest is going to turn Heyward into a $184M player?

He's hit a lot better since being moved down. Small sample set of 4 games, but it's a good sign so far.pureoc said:

Pitching is going to make or break us. I'm just not convinced Lackey & Hammel will hold up all season. I'm good with the other three although I suspect something is up with Lester health/injury wise. He just came off one of the best months in his career to throwing every ball in the dirt for 2 games straight + the ASG. The bullpen, well...Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250 -
Yeah i fear 2nd half Hammel is here. Pretty upset it appears lined up he will pitch next Fri night when i go to the game in Milwaukee. I also fear father time will catch up with lackey. Don't even get me started on the pen.HesCalledDyer said:

Hammels has been prescribed potato chips by his doctor.
This should prevent his usual second half meltdown. The worst of times..they don't phase me,
even if I look and act really crazy.0 -
Pathetic to at minimum not tie the game down 1 woth bases loaded no outs. He was wild as shit and our guys go up there swinging at 1st pitch garbage. Didn't they do the same thing(swinging at 1st pitch garbage) when they played the Mutz in NY?pureoc said:Pathetic to at minimum not tie the game down 1 woth bases loaded no outs. He was wild as shit and our guys go up there swinging at 1st pitch garbage. Gotta be more disciplined.

These are the type of games that make or break championships. Right now we're "breaking." Hendricks' time to shine tomorrow. He shows up fatty tomorrow, were right back to "making."Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

Rizzo looked really bad last night. Has he ever struck out 4 times in one game before?will myself to find a home, a home within myself
we will find a way, we will find our place0 -
That game seriously pissed me off!
No outs and the bags full.
Ugh!
Familia at that point, threw like 10 balls and 2 strikes. How the hell does anyone take a swing at anything that's not right down the middle? Ugh!0 -
Obviously, Bryant shit down his leg. However, before that, they had Sczur batting? He should have instead been put on 2nd in place of Montero. The mets OF has some cannons. Sczurs speed was needed on 2nd."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0

Rizzo having a better day than yesterday.
Take me piece by piece.....

Let's take 2 of 3 from the Mets.
Along with 2 of 3 from Texas....
And I can start breathing again.

They said today that was just the 2nd GIDP by Bryant all yr in a little under 350 ABs. Just bad timing.darwinstheory said:Obviously, Bryant shit down his leg.
