Catching Hell was on ESPN 30 for 30 last night. Showed my 11 year old son who wasn't familiar with the story. He dug it.
Shameful Cubs fans.
Shame!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone has long moved past that, realized the error of their ways, and forgiven a poor man that had nothing to do with the Cubs either losing that game or the series. But thanks for your insightful commentary 13 years later.
I'd like to believe you, I really would but if that were the case, then why does that program get aired? I get that the psychotic death threats have ceeded, but it puts the guy back in the unwanted spotlight. Sportscasters still refer to it as the "Bartman" game. It's awful for the dude. Saw him tailgating a couple years back. Eventually a drunk dude started calling him out (just yelling "it's Bartman") so he ended up leaving.
By "everyone" I meant Cubs fans, not the media. And even then, I'm sure there are a few idiots who haven't moved on. But are those people really fans? I do think the film is an important look into scapegoating - not only in sports but in other facets of life as well - and it should be aired. Why they only choose to air it when the Cubs are in the playoffs, well, that's the media for ya.
They aired it now to remind us all of the karmic justice about to transpire.

UN fucking REAL!! What a swing by Montero. And then the back to back.
Was a little upset we didn't throw AGon an off speed pitch on that equalizer through the middle, but alls well that ends well. Javy, once again, even when he screwed up, he hustled and stole home. Great win!

Wow what a game! That GS will go down in history. Talk about a wild last 2 games!! Glad to get the W. Didn't like Lester being pulled so early. Also no more 4, 5 or 6 out saves for Chapman. It's not what he does. He should only pitch in the 9th.

I'm ok with a 2-inning save for Chapman, just gotta put him out there to start the inning instead of waiting til runners are in scoring position. Gotta let him get control of the inning, not try to clean up someone else's mess. That's not a closer's role.

Some great defense by Fowler.
Rizzo and Russell need to start hitting.

That being said, yes. The cubs had the most comeback wins when trailing after 8 than any team in baseball.
