Saw the Who @ MSG last week. Really?!!! They are still amazing!!! Great sound at the Garden.

Saw Neil Young 2 days before that at the new Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Short set. Only 12-13 songs. Didn't play Rockin'. Still can play a mean guitar and his voice sounds just like his 30+ studio albums.

I was at both those shows too! NY played for over 2 hours even though it was a low number of songs.

I thought the sock trick was Jim Morrison. :eh:

Yeah, I don't think Roger will ever get past trying to act macho. He'd probably do better to go back to the fringed vests.

Codie was checking to see how old all those geezers at 121212 were  and came across a stat concerning roger's height (or lack of). five foot six inches?

chalk up the macho to short man syndrome

Yeah, he's really a little guy. Pete's not all that tall either, he just looks it on stage with a guitar.

I read that the supposed thinking behind booking all the aging rockers was to appeal to the boomers, since we have SO MUCH disposable income.

I was surprised the Stones only did 2 songs but they have a pay per view show coming up, so I guess they didn't want to do too many freebies.

and the last paragraph he says quadrophenia is pete's best work and um i would agree

    http://www.relix.com/features/2013/01/1 ... -entwistle

"As far as Townshend’s greatest work—and The Who’s greatest work—I have to say Quadrophenia. It’s the one that he really nailed the rock opera on—he nailed the songwriting, he nailed the weaving of musical themes throughout the whole work. It’s an absolutely gorgeous and fully realized piece of rock and roll history. It’s neat that they’re going out and touring with it. These old guys still have something to teach us and we better pay attention."

I am a huge Who fan, but I was on the fence about going to see them because, understandably, they are a far cry from the band I first saw in 1980. I realized I'd regret not going, and Quadrophenia is one of my ATF records.

It will blow your mind and change it from you thinking they are a FAR CRY from anything. Are they 45? Certainly not. But, they are still the best live show there is.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
