Aren't skin whitening products huge in China? Lots of MSG used in Chinese restaurants around my area too...

I cannot speak for them all, but in my experience, yes. Fillipino, Thai, and any other darker skinned Asians are also harshly judged. I think it's similar in the African American community as well.
