Lets get it into perspective,I've been waiting for this gig for 14 years.Any time PJ have played before I could'nt go for a variety of reasons and was depressed for weeks because of it.All I'm saying is-if Paddy Casey is the worst thing we have to sit through in order to see Pearl jam then it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make! It's fucking Pearl Jam!!Tomorrow!!!!Lighten the fuck up,please!

I've seen paddy casey a few times now, and he is better live than on his CD's.
    Not much better though.
I saw him support Ian Brown in Sir enrys in Cork way back before he released his first album, and he played a stormer.
However I've still to hear the best song he played on that night, I think it was a b-side on one of his ealry singles.
He has also supported REM (landsdown rd).

I would prefer to see a longer or accoustic PJ set, but any opening act is better than none. Damn Bob Dylan, with his no supporting act either time I've seen him .
    Cork, Dublin x3.
    They just keep getting better.

Do what I have done for every single one of PJ's openers for all 12 of my shows, stay in the pub and drink more beer!

Paddy Casey handled the crowd absolutely perfectly. Fair play to him. He knew what he was getting himself in for and he took it in his stride.

    General Admission

neither lateness nor beer go well with those.
  • I was pleasantly surprised by Paddy Casey. I expected one of these James Blunt types, but he was far better than that... Still barely approaching mediocre, but not horrible either.

I think I felt sorry for him more than anything. If you're not gonna cheer, just stand there, and applaud politely. I thought he was brilliant at handling the rudeness of the crowd...

"This song is called (something or other), it's one of your favourites..."
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

because i hadn't heard who was supporting i didn't turn up til about 8:40 cos i guessed it would be some random irish act....glad i wasn't there....

was it a last minute stand in type of thing???...i was at a gig a few years ago and someody dropped out last minute and they got him in....
...so one minute he was at home watching the news next minute supporting pearl jam! that's plain wrong...
  • I was disappointed with the support (would have preferred none and a longer PJ show) but credit to him, he performed in front of a hostile crowd.

I didn't like him, but didn't go as far as booing - I've not yet earnt the right to support PJ so until I can, can't criticise!
