  • Yeah, sounds cool. You planning on heading to The Temple Bar Pub for a few drinks beforehand ?(as detailed in the Dublin Schedules thread).

I'm actually from West Yorkshire but my girl is Cardiff born and bred which is why I've ended up here :)

Okay...I look for some one with terrible dress sense ;) You look for someone who looks a bit like Rivers from Weezer and a girl who looks a bit like Pink :)

Well we are staying with my brothers girlfriend in drogheda which is about 40mins from dublin. She has booked a bus for us there and back. May catch u in the Temple Bar.

Ive got a friend from Yorkshire. Shes living in Caerphilly now. Married a welsh boy!

Ok I'll look for Rivers and Pink! Just look out for the welsh flag!
  • the paddy casey thing isn't speculation...i know a member of paddy's band and he told me...it doesn't actually say it anywhere but thats pretty concrete evidence....and ya never no..ed could do a few on his own after paddy...it is strange that the first and last shows support are still TBA..

So is everyone over the Paddy Casey thing? ready to give him a break? (and not the rest of us a pain in the arse listening to them take the piss while he tries to play in peace) ... sorted. Man, I should get for almost promoting him, when I don't even like his music particularly myself ... I just know when a deal aint a big one!

i'm gonna clap at the end of his songs, i'm not gonna talk during his performance (cause thats the height of rudeness imo) but i'm not gonna like it,

i'm there to see pearl jam raise the fucking roof and i'm gonna go fucking mental from the second the enter the stage to the second they leave, and i'll be chanting "one more tune, one more tune" (or something similar till the secuirity guards remove me)

but i still don't want paddy casey to support

Same as everyone else so. ;)

Meh, it could be worse, it could have been George Murphy *shudder* ...

Aye, apparently so, little Dublin thug :p

Seriously though, he deserves all he gets 'inside' for his abysmal Luke Kelly impersonations.

  • if i make it to dublin, paddy casey as support really wouldn't bother me too much.

i mean, it's fucking pearl jam, they could put the spice girls on first and i wouldn't mind, i'd just be thankful to be in the building for what i know is coming up next :D

i've only heard one song by paddy casey, called saints and sinners.... to be honest, it got pretty annoying after a while

Tbh, that's his most boring song, his first album was better than his last, I guess you just have to be in the right frame of mind, let it drift over you, he's quite somber ... Sweet Suburban Skies was an ok tune though. So long as he doesn't put us all asleep beforehand we'll be ok :p

Eh... Ok paddy casey or about 10 more pj tunes... Give me a break! What about a decent irish act like the republic of loose or (not exactly irish) rodrigo y gabriela? Paddy casey does not deserve the time slot in my hunble and personal opinion
    JUST PLAY THE F***ING NOTE!!!
  • how about a pre set of PJ covering a few irish tunes

'Hunble'is right, republic of loose are dire!!!! :p

You weren't going to get 10 more PJ tracks no matter what the support, someone's gotta fill the slot, that's all I'm saying, get over the fact it's Paddy C, who cares? Me? nope ... it'll pass.

    I BET IT'S GONNA BE U2
    That would be hilarious :D
Although it is extremely unlikely, it actually would explain why it hasn't been announced. If they announced that early then the whole gig would have been taken over by U2 fans, and PJ fans wouldn't have had a chance to get tickets.
Although it sold out in 9 minutes anyway, but you see what I'm getting at.

As I've stated, I don't like him either, I'm just not letting the crappy support act ruin it for me :p

Republic of loose, from what I heard, are boring and extremely repetitive. "this is my comeback girl ... this is my comeback girl .. this ...is ... my ..... comeback girl ...." (repeat way too may times) :D

    hmm.

Why the band isn't comfirming that it's Paddy Casey?.Are they so affraid that scalpers would sky rocked tickets prices?

Why the big secret around the opening act for the show...i still don't get it..if it's Paddy Casey, just say it....

Yeah, it really doesn't make sense. I'll not be believing anything until it's official. I'd also think Pearl Jam would make it a point of letting their fans know who the support is so the fans can check the person or group out prior to the show. If it's Paddy Casey, why keep it secret? Out of embarassment maybe?

So, what started the Paddy Casey rumour? There's absolutelynothing to suggest he (or anyone else for that matter) is doing it.

Aye, still 'tba' on Pearljam.com, strange when it's so close. Maybe there's a big surprise in it? here's hoping.

there's nothing about it on Paddy Casey's website, but it doesn't seem to be updated regularly! and googling Pearl Jam support just brings up posts I made here!
