there are very few Irish bands who could pull that gig off but I reckon the Frames could, love them or hate them. someone like God Is An Astronaut would be cool.

i think the U2 thing is a piss-take. maybe Snow Patrol could come down, not sure what their schedule is like though.

i'm hoping for an extra long PJ set, no opener. i just hope its not some mediocre "grunge" band.

actually, my ideal opener would be brendan benson, i think he would set the band up nicely:)

unfortunately he's away with the raconteurs the now

Maybe Neil Young? A mere rumor! Funny how the first scheduled show and the final scheduled show have NO supporting act listed yet.

wont be wolfmother dude... they are playing elsewhere on same night :(
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    I hate the Frames... boring!!

I vote for a band not really well known... maybe Stoneocean or the Delorentos!

Or me! I'd love to support Pearl Jam!!!

My ideal support act would be just Ed on his own playing 3 or 4 songs before the rest of the guys come out and rock us all.

    Yeah, Sleater-Kinney would be awesome.

At this stage I think its more likely that there'll be no support. An acoustic set beforehand would be nice, like they did in Boston (I think?!?) on the 2003 tour.
  • I heard it was Wolfmother too ... so theyre playing somewhere else that night?

About as much hope as Layne Staley rising from the grave to re-join AiC and do support I reckon.

Weren't we having stoney and someone else with spoons??? I waS really looking forward to that :D
  • My original thought was that it'd be likely to be someone who was sharing the bill with them at Reading and Leeds but that looks unlikely now.

You think that a load of bands would jump at the chance to support Pearl Jam.

Maybe Ash will do it as a last minute stand in.....though PJ could still be pissed at them after they turned down that US tour with them all those years ago.

please, please, please let it be eddie...let eddie do a 1 hour solo of slow songs with a ukulele.

save the hard numbers for later...with the band.

    that'll be climatic.

lol...I wasn;t saying that I'd like it to be Ash....just trying to think of an Irish band who could be asked.

Ash have long since jumped the shark.....their first two albums were great but Free All Angels was the kind of thing you'd expect from Toploader!!
