Well, some people think Creed is better than PJ, doesn't mean it's true. Jay Z can't hang with the rappers I mentioned.

Immortal Technique released two great albums and one terrible one the last
decade. Lets stop pretending he has all
    this great work.

His one good album is better than the whole Jay Z discography! His lyrics are important and relevant.

And Speedy...you're right, you shouldn't comment. You're unfit to do so.

  • do you think somewhere there is a thread on like the Jay Z page talking about whether it should have been Pearl Jam or some obscure but legendary underground band "because PJ isnt real talent and blah blah blah -- obscure underground band is real rock and roll......"
because that would be almost as funny as this Jay Z vs ImMortal Kombat argument we have going

The Black Keys have a break in touring before and after these dates, would be pretty sick if they played before PJ to close it out. They also did that Black Roc rap album a couple years ago with some of Wu Tang, Q-Tip, Mos Def, would make sense for them to play this. Looks like Jack White is also free that weekend and Jay Z was at his show a couple weeks ago. Either of them would make this well worth the $99** :D

The one good thing is that if PJ is closing, I imagine a good portion of the audience that favors hip-hop may disperse early. It may open up better views (and judging by the venue layout in that photo, better views will be needed :? )

Ive never seen them in a festival.
About what time do you need to show up to be in the front 50 yards of the stage?
    any idea?
    thanks!

Yup. The last festival I went to was lollapalooza. They had a divider about 50 yards out and I'm not sure how you could get in the front section. My friends were so far away they couldn't even see the stage and had to watch a video screen.

I've been sour towards festivals ever sense. I'd probably enjoy them more if one of my favorite bands wasn't headlining. (go figure) But I don't want to bake in the sun for 12 hours so that I don't have to use binoculars to see Matt Cameron bang away.

When they played acl we were 30 yards from the stage and we walked over there 90 mins before they went on. All festivals are different.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

350 "Exclusive access to the VIP viewing areas located close to the stage"

899 "Platinum Viewing Area Platform with premium site lines to the main stage"

Yeah, the argument would only be relevant if you knew what we were talking about.

yes. to get a good view of the stage expect to be there for the majority of the day. it's luck if you get good viewing as people move in and out all day when certain bands are done.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

  • I remember I was unwillingly drug to some shitty '90s band concert in 2008. Had no interest in going but saw them live and was absolutely blown away. Never know what you are missing until you give it a shot.
O and that band was PJ, now look at me. A 10club degenerate obsessed with everything PJ :)

This made my day. Hope that happens for some folks at this fest.

Has anyone been able to dig up a seating (standing) map indicating stage locations and/or the VIP areas? Hoping that they disclose this info before the VIP tix go on sale tomorrow.
