It's a tip of the cap, and some respect towards PJ and their imprint on Rock and Roll.

Shut up, most of you sound like you're too old to walk. It's not the end of the world.

I wouldn't mind seeing jay-z come on stage with pj for a song. Sweet lew anyone? Lol.

I'll be there. I'm interested in seeing a few of the artists (skrillex and miike snow). Kinda curious to see jay-z. I do Linda remember seeing him at live 8.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Like Phish did, although I couldn't see Pearl Jam doing his songs. Maybe Rockin in the Free World somehow, I could see Jay Z messing around with that.

I think they’ll hit other profitable markets on the east coast, like DC and Boston. Like in 2008 when they played Bonaroo, they came up the coast. They’re not going to pay all that money in transporting their equipment across the country to play one or two shows. Small east coast tour around the Philly festival... Wait for the official announcement, then other dates to follow.

Love to see them in Atlantic City in Boardwalk Hall.

    I agree.

Or what about a little Ed on Young Forever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1nbvplgElw

That would be phenomenal in my opinion.

Jay Z has more talent than most of the popular "rock" bands out today.
Here's where I disagree. I can't see how he's "talented" as a rapper. As a producer and a businessman, yes he's great. But rhyming some words and talking about how you're spending your fans' money? No thanks. While I can appreciate rap for pure entertainment value, I can't find the talent in it. And don't eeeeeeven get me started on Kanye. Instead of his jaw being wired shut, his entire mouth should have been....and his vocal chords removed. Just my opinion. Werd.

Poets piece words together and are viewed as talented, so why can't rappers?
Poets generally have meaning in what they write. Rappers, in general, rap about spending money on cars, bling, ho's, going to the club, etc. There are a select few rappers where I can say I see talent (Zack de la Rocha, Busta Rhymes, some Tupac, Chuck D, Beasties). But for the most part, today's rappers are ridiculous.

I'd say 95% of rappers are complete and utter jokes and embarrassments. With that being said.. People like Jay Z and Nas are stupid talented. They just got lost in shuffle of these clowns posing as musicians.

Would be nice to see Freeway and the Roots there too since they are local.

Here's to hoping the Fresh Prince makes a return!!
    '08- Camden 1-2   '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4

    '14- Denver   '16- Philly 1-2; MSG 2
    '17- Pilgrimage Music Fest (Eddie)

It totally mystifies me that people would be so against music festivals. They're fun!

They are fun, but as far as a Pearl Jam concert, they are an inferior experience to an arena show. At Jazzfest people around me were talking over all the songs they didn't know, and we didn't get all that close to the stage so I was actually having trouble hearing the band at times.

It should be a good time though. 8-)

Well, of course a PJ show is better to us PJ fanatics. But to whine about the festivals and not even be willing to go to a fest where PJ is playing because it's a fest just seems weird and a bit close-minded to me! It's basically people consciously deciding they are uninterested in seeing other bands play that they'd normally never see live...and iI just don't get that decision. They get to see PJ in a solid set, plus experience a bunch of new and/or different shit too. And that is a bad thing? Whaaaa...? :). Yeah, it's not a full PJ concert... but it's still something good!
