I'm an idiot. I always thought Midnight Oil was a Canadian band, but I googled and, yep, they are Australian (as apparently everybody else knows). I guess it was from seeing them on muchmusic when I was a kid I just assumed they were Canadian. Doh!
So, the guy who said Midnight Oil was Swedish, so I figured it was a Sweden vs. Canada thing, 2 countries who dominate Olympic Hockey. That was it. It's obvious why you (and everybody else) would not understand the connection.

Point deduction for the Kiwis for not reading the rules. You get points for saying nice things/listing examples, of things you like about the other country. So if you say something you like about one of the other countries, then New Zealand would get a point.
P.S. If you say something nice about Satan's Island, you not only get points but also get entered into a drawing for a night of steamy passion with our resident man-servant.
