Seller pulls website after racist anti-Obama sticker goes viral

I don't think there's a need for a sticker such as this one...what do you think?

Seeing that just makes me sad. How do people live with such ignorance and hatred? Very very sad....

    "personally"?
    :D

    It's not even subjective.

The bumper sticker is OBJECTIVELY & PATENTLY OFFENSIVE.

"Renege", based off the latin "renegare" means "to go back on"

"Re-NIG" simply seems like HATE SPEECH to me.
Although here in America there is no provision for punishment of generic hate speech (thanks, constitution!, ?) ... this seems like it might actually be prosecutable under existing speech laws for "INCITEMENT TO RIOT".

Given that the abbreviated "NIG" in "Re-NIG" can & does have ONLY ONE MEANING ...
I imagine that you could have a pretty good case in court using "incitement to riot" in your arguments.

    Sheesh.
Whomever said "let ignorant people identify themselves"
    Lol.
But this is a bridge too far, imho.

We The People enjoy our free speech, in ways we don't even know. But, with that, we are subject to speech with which we disagree. In my town, there's a cranky old man who went to the hardware store, and purchased a sheet of letters. He "wrote" the same thing... this "don't re-nig" statement on the back of his truck, and has been driving around town "saying" this now for years.

It is what it is. Silly and juvenile.

I don't want this old man going to jail. I just want to continue ignoring him.

there is a big facebook debate about this going on right now.

of course, in true andew breitbart fashion, the tea party people are saying "it is photoshopped" and "it's being taken out of context", which we all know is bullshit.

these people are going to marginalize themselves again... and i hope that insurance companies drop these people who have these stickers, because if i were an insurance comapany and something happens to their car as a result of having one of these stickers on there i would tell them that their policy does not cover damages incurred as a result of stupidly putting a blatantly racist capmaign sticker on your vehicle..that is only inviting damage to occur.

I just hope I don't see one on when I'm driving because running other cars off the road can be bad for my bumpers. There's an idiot wind still blowing in America and it's called racism.

Apart from the blatant racism, it's also stupid.

To renege (AKA to go back on or change a deal) would be to vote Republican, to not renege would be to vote for Obama again.

"Re-NIg" actually comes a racist attempt at humor...an old joke...nowhere close to the definition of renege

one would like to think that ... i would say the incidence of vandalism associated with this sticker would be the same as those carrying a regular obama sticker in some parts of the country ...

At least anyone dumb enough to put this on their car is admitting why they don't like him. There's a lot of racism on the right covered up by their bullshit reasons and excuses. I'm looking at you Birthers.

    does this sound prejudiced :?

I might feel Obama was not born in this country ... does it mean I am racist... NO!
I don't see his color or anyone's as an issue, I have friends and loves of all colors.

So you are lumping me with others you call racist and generalizing.

The colors that you brought up here are red and blue and the hypocrisy continues.

absolutely amazing that we can not agree that the bumper sticker is inappropriate, racist, and is the work of a racist, and the people that rock that sticker are racist...

The sticker is clearly racist. I wonder if it comes free of charge when you buy some truck nuts for your hitch?

can't see how anyone whether an Obama supporter or not, can deny that it's explicitly racist

    and who said it wasn't

clearly I was addressing the generalization that birthers are racist
that is an over the top assumption with no basis...

again the colors are red and blue with that posters comment
and that is also a form of prejudice.

so are you saying that there is not one single racist element or motivation in the birther movement?? not one single person sporting this bumper sticker is racist?

i am not buying that at all.

to me, the birther movement is a way to cover up their racism under the guise of trying to take legitimacy away from obama's landslide victory in 2008... just like what happened with some branches of the tea party.

No I am saying one can not say ALL birthers motives for believing as they do is based in racism
or that the birther movement is based in that. It is more likely based in red and blue.

The generalization made by that poster is totally untrue and is based in red and blue
another form of prejudice, one we see to nauseam here on the board.

The fact that multiple posters read that someone actually didn't think the sticker was racist
is a perfect example ... that was never even stated by anyone.

Well, technically he spoke of those on the right many are racist based on the sticker in this thread . then he said he's looking for the birthers which many on the right do believe. Maybe he can come on and clarify?

"looking at you" and not for you huge ridiculing difference

:wtf: because one doesn't like Obama = a racist

it is blatant red/blue racism ... something many here are guilty of

funniest part is I'm behind Obama ... most likely gonna give him 4 more to do his thing
but this red and blue is hogwash and really makes for small unbending minds
and so much not getting anything done for the people... wait we are the people :?
