You should remember that you don't know very much about sports (and that's ok), but it'll at least prevent you from making a fool of yourself in the future.

Come talk to me after this stretch pal.

Oh, what.. he might score 15-20? He'll still have 10 assists.

I don't see your point here. What about his 38 against LA?

  • What RM22 seems to be ignorant about is the fact that the kid got a chance to step up and lead a team for the FIRST TIME....and he's making history with his numbers.

Why is it that in his first few starts he scored the most points of anyone, ever? Everyone on that list is a great player.

Why? Because they were all highly drafted? Why, because they weren't cut twice, and overlooked?

Give me a break. Jeremy Lin is for real. You don't lose his basketball IQ and you don't lose a jump shot.

Jealous and bitter about what? I am a Sixers fan and am certainly not jealous of the Knicks and no, I don't miss Iverson at all.

Iverson does miss his $200 million dollars though. At this point he is probably jealous both of us.

Unlikely. He got his chance and he's proven himself. You don't go for 38 against the Lakers and fade away. He's got the body to be in the NBA and the work ethic to stay there.

No shot. He has been on 3 different teams and was about to be cut from the Knicks until Carmello got hurt. He will go right back to being a bench player soon enough.

Its one week for goodness sakes. He has been in the league for 3 years and has averaged around 5 minutes per game.

This is even funnier than people thinking Tim Tebow could play.

Yeah!!! Kurt Warner agrees (the QB, not the RB).

You haven't been watching. There's a You tube video of him absolutely killing John Wall in a summer game. Its real. This is not some gimic with a good D masking the lack of talent. This actually makes you wonder how many more guys are missed b/c of preconceived notions.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

This is wrong (and funny). You don't lose the ability to find teammates. Assists are what are impressive. Shooting comes and goes. Passing and D do not. You either have that ability or you don't. He has it. He actually has shown a skill set that DOESN'T go away. He's not reliant on his shot falling. Especially once Melo's back.

And to folks that think Melo can't play with him - name the last PG he's played with. Lin doesn't want to shoot (but he will if he has an opening). He'll be more than happy to dish. Melo will be more than happy to receive in a better spot so he doesn't have to make the offense grind to a hault.

He's not going to be Walt Frazier. But, can he be a taller Mark Jackson with a better shot? Why not? Because Mark came from a pedigree program and city?
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Flip flopping what? I've said he is a below average NBA player. and by that I mean he is closer to being a bench player than he is to being a quality player.

I said not that he will deserve it. The fans vote for guys who have been injured the entire year. I fully expect for fools to vote for Lin to start. My favorite basketball player was Jim Jackson. In the 1994-95 season he was averaging 27 a game going into all-star weekend, only David Robinson, Karl Malone and Shaq averaged more points a game yet Dan mother fucking Majerle started for the West over Mitch Richmond and Jim Jackson didn't even get to go. Oh by the way Dan Majerle didn't even start for his own team. Anyway yes Rose is by far the better player but don't assume when it comes to fan voting.

fair enough...but Rose was 3rd in voting this year...they only way he doesn't start is an injury...or he does something really dumb...lin has a better shot at passing d. wade....but even with the ny market, i can't see that happpening....but like you said, dumber things have happened

I ran into Jim Jackson at southwyck lanes once.

Wait a minute. You actually are saying that Jeremy Lin deserves to be on the All Star team? hahahahahahahahahaha

You are aware that as of right now the NBA isn't even letting him participate in the Rookie and Sophomore game, right?

Dude, if you think he deserves to be on the All Star team you have some serious issues.

Like I said before, it's 5 starting spots per team. That equates to 150 starting positions in the NBA.

The NFL? Over 700. The depth needed the NFL is real as injuries are much more common (especially the serious, career threatening ones) so while the opportunities can be limited, they are there.

There are over 1700 players in the NFL (53 on each roster) while the NBA has around 450 (15 on each roster). But how often do NBA players have significant injuries that allow someone buried on the depth chart to show themselves? Not often. There are certainly some other players out there that could shine, but imagine what they would have to show in practice to get that opportunity outside of an injury? They'd have to start hitting 65% from beyond the arc or dunking from the foul line to get enough attention to bench someone else and give them playing time.

Gerry McNamara - and it was the unselfish, savvy guard play of McNamara that allowed Melo to play the most dominant basketball of his career - to this day.
