That more people are killed by prescription drugs than street drugs.

"The Florida Medical Examiners Commission this week released a report saying that “the rate of deaths caused by prescription drugs was three times the rate of deaths caused by all illicit drugs combined”, The New York Times reports.

The conclusion was derived from an analysis of 168,900 autopsies performed in 2007 in Florida.

According to the report, cocaine, heroin and all methamphetamines caused a total of 989 deaths while legal opinoid drugs – strong painkillers in brand name drugs such as Vicodin and OxyContin, caused 2,328."

Abuse is abuse. :( All I can say is I'm glad wide spread abuse of prescription drugs wasn't around when I was in college...not sure if I would have survived.

Harrison Ford (who had played Bob Falfa in Lucas's American Graffiti) read the part of Han Solo for screen tests of other characters but wasn't originally considered for the part. During these tests George Lucas realized Harrison Ford was perfect for the role.

Christopher Walken as Han Solo...:lol::lol::lol:

SNL did an episode where Kevin Spacey did an impression of Walken doing Solo, Matheau as Obi Wan. (also includes Daryll Hammond as Dreyfuss testing for C3P0

Now if you added people killed by violence for drugs(street drugs) would probably would be #1. Just make everything legal. That would put the gang bangers and cartels in a spot they don't want to be in.

  • Dogs see blue, violet, and many more shades of gray than humans. They also see better in low light and can pick up the slightest movement -- a trait that makes them good hunters. They probably do not see red, orange, yellow, or green, based on examination of the color-sensitive cone cells in canine retinas.

    In Pennsylvania:

    1. "Automobiles traveling on country roads at night must send up a rocket every mile, then wait ten minutes for the road to clear."

    2. "If a driver sees a team of horses, he is to pull to one side of the road and cover his machine with a blanket or dust cover that has been painted to blend into the scenery."

    3. "In the event that a horse refuses to pass a car on the road, the owner must take his car apart and conceal the parts in the bushes."

I have been told several times that there are still old signs in Amish Country that state that when a horse and buggy approaches, one must pull their automobile to the side of the road, and if the horse spooks, they must then dismantle said automobile.
