Looks like a clip from tonight's Beatles 50th anniversary TV special - fanatastic wasn't it?
Gary and Joe Walsh were awesome on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' - I had no idea Joe could sing high notes so well.
The Beatles still make me so happy - what a great era to be on earth.
I think I'll take a look at your clip now - thanks in advance!

    You won't be disappointed.
I've seen him live three times and he and his band always deliver.
If you think Gary is bad a** (and he is) wait till you hear his rhythm guitarist, King Zapata. Dude is baaaad.

I did get to see him do a headlining show in November and he certainly does deliver! I was so blown away. Wasn't expecting to see him again so soon, but I sure am happy about it!

The funny thing is in 5 years you're going to be saying that while laughing. Who opened for who? :)) First time I ever thought of getting tickets, seeing the opener THEN leaving. But, alas I passed. Was glad to see him at the Crossroads Guitarfest and from the rail at T5. He is about to explode.

If you didn't see The Beatles special, stop what you're doing, go to You Tube and see if there is video of Gary, Joe Walsh and Dave Grohl (where he should be - behind the drums). I haven't, but I have it DVR'd, so not sure if it's on You Tube.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Trust me, never buy a ticket for a show in which you're just interested for the opener as they won't play for long and the opener may have to quit the tour due to a reason and you can't refund the tickets because they aren't the headliners (it was the case for Biffy Clyro in April 2013 when the band had to quit Muse's tour midway in April due to the singer having a respiratory infection). Save your money when Gary Cark Jr. headline a show: he may only have one album, an EP and an ITunes session, but he can play for as much as 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Coool cool moment: boyfriend and I saw KoL/Gary in DC on Friday, and we were walking around the area looking for a good place to get beer and an appetizer before the show. Turn a corner near the back of the venue, and I freeze and tell my bf, "Holy shit, that's Gary Clark Jr.!!" I'm pretty shy so I'm glad my bf was there to be like JUST GO UP TO HIM! Gary was just chilling outside! Was able to say hi, tell him I was excited to see him open and that I'd caught him at 9:30 Club a couple months back. He was nice enough to take a quick picture with me too! Very cool. The man is TALL and damn he killed it yet again during the show!

Listening to it right now. Enjoying it so far, great mix of classics and his own stuff. I love Gary Clark but I didn't care for his last studio album as it had some quasi R&B stuff I didn't care for. This live album has none of that and is basically Gary and his guitar, which is exactly what I want out of a Gary Clark Jr. album.

Only halfway through it but I'm confident enough to give it a recommendation already.

Crap. I was trying to take a break from record buying. Haha. Who am I kidding? Looks like I'm gonna have to pick this up. :-c
  • Live album is great, though I find it doesn't really bring the true live GCjr experience. Not sure if it's the mix or what. Obviously, nothing matches actually being there, but I think you get what I'm saying. There are live albums that bring you back to the show. I don't find this doing that for me. Don't get me wrong - it's awesome. But, something's missing and an audiophile better than myself could probably speak to it better than I.

Either way, we need some new music. This is like 1992 all over again and having heard Ten in about 7,000 different forms waiting for some new music.

C'mon GCjr!!!! You can do it!!!!
