Serious question.  If the clock had run out in OT would the game have been over?

Hats off to Chiefs.  Mahommes Magic is money.  Damn him, lol.
I could bitch about a few things but in the end it was just what I thought it would be.  Mahommes was the difference.

What up with Kelce, though?  Dude raging like a roid monkey.  He played great down the stretch but was garbage and crazy acting prior to that.  He almost killed Nuggies.

Yeah, they would have just started the “second quarter.” That’s why Chiefs weren’t stressed on time. New overtime rules I think.

I'm waiting to hear someone say that Kelce is "passionate".  Why'd the 9ers stop running the ball?  Seemed to work early and they abandoned it for the middle of the game.

Congratulations to the Chiefs. I think the 49ers should have won it, but you can't keep giving Mahomes chances. Pretty disappointed.

I knew that wasn’t the case, but if the Chiefs had been held to a FG would next score win?

or if Niners scored after that, would the Chiefs have been given a “chance to possess”?

I thought the Chiefs had lost when a) they didn’t get the pick in OT, b) they held on 3rd and long and c) they subsequently let the Niners drive (nearly) the length of the field.

I just saw that, no, if Chiefs had only tied it, it would have then become sudden death.

If the Chiefs kicked a FG to tie it, then it becomes "next score wins" so 49ers can win with a FG. The clock is there just for a formality and to change ends every 15 minutes. I mean, maybe the end of the 2nd OT would be like a "halftime"? It's never happened and I don't know that rule.

Regular season OT should guarantee both teams get a possession too. Right now the 2nd team only gets a possession if the 1st team got stopped or kicked a FG. It makes the strategy a lot more interesting.

I don't usually see you talking football. This is really directed to some punk little kid who trolls the Eagles thread, only when his team is winning. He tends to disappear after they lose. Maybe he's grounded by his momma.

The muffed punt and missed PAT are what killed SF. That game was theirs to win.

That's not to take anything away from the Chiefs... they earned every second of this title. They executed better and made fewer mistakes, not unlike the AFCCG against the Ravens.

Congrats to KC & their fans.

exactly...that muffed punt was the trigger

At first I thought the player was stupid for trying to pick it up but then realized it had hit someone's ankle and bounced so he did what he was supposed to do.

I thought it was a great super bowl. More entertaining than most.  As much as the Niners had some blunders in the second half, Mahomes took over that game and won it for the Chiefs.

That was a good Superbowl.  Bravo to both teams.  San Fran played great.  KC deserved it.  My MVP is Chris Jones.  He created havoc on every big 3rd down play.
