The Bears are creating a very strange culture.
I am guessing Nagy is probably a very odd guy.
ProFootballTalk : Bears told Mitchell Trubisky not to talk about loss to Packers
Could be from the Chiefs/Andy Reid culture.  Nagy was our OC.  The Chiefs don't make their players very accessible to talk to the media.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

That combined with the whole kicker deal is just odd to me.  Don't remember Kool Aid Man being weird like that but you may be right.

The Chiefs are strangely protective of their players talking to the media.  As an example, last year while Eric Berry was "week-to-week" with his heel, the club wouldn't let him anywhere near the press.  Even after he was back on the field, he didn't have to comment.  The fan base was chomping at the bit to know when/if he was coming back.

Yeah I found that pretty odd as well.  Nagy has been a guy who is usually pretty open with the media so I'm surprised to see that.....although that is solely based on last year where they went 12-4 and won the division so there weren't a whole lot of negatives to discuss.  I can kinda see not wanting to dwell on the negative and move on, but still seems pretty strange.  Trubisky is a 3rd year QB who has handled the media pretty well so far in his career...not sure why they're dictating what he can and can't talk about at this point.

Agree...which is why the whole kicker tryout from the same spot, showing the double doink over and over...just is odd.

Agreed.  The whole kicker thing in the offseason was absurd.  I hope they have their guy with Pineiro but obsessing over it the whole offseason was weird.

The theory of the Burfict hit causing permanent mental damage may hold some water.
It may, but there are lots of stories coming out about his behavior years before that. I can’t remember if anyone mentioned it on here but there was a story that came out about AB screaming in the Steelers’ DC’s face about how he shouldn’t be hit in practice because he was too valuable to the team. It pissed Troy Polamalu off so bad that he declared that it was open season on receivers during practice. Troy is known for being one of the more level headed people around.

And that was like 2012. The CTE excuse is so lame. He’s a moronic egomaniac...and rapist.

Normally I’d put “allegedly” in front of “rapist” but no one (on the Internet at least) afforded that to Roethlisberger or Kobe so fuck it.

But he did pay out, I’m assuming, a huge cash settlement, “to make it go away.”

He wasn’t charged for either. The second case was particularly suspicious. I watched the accuser’s interview with police. His accuser, who took a picture with him earlier in the night, didn’t describe her assailant as “Ben Roethlisberger, the only famous person at the bar.” She described him as “6’5” and 240 pounds.” Like she read it off his NFL.com profile. She ended up not pursuing a civil lawsuit. He did however settle with the first accuser out of court. But he wasn’t criminally charged in either like Halifax claims. I’m not sure of the particulars with Kobe’s case though. I think he settled out of court, but I’m not positive.

And neither has AB been charged. So I guess they're more same than not. Except BBRB paid out settlement and seems like a real swell guy. And guess what? He's still playing in the NFL golly gee!
