In college he is.  I don’t even think Meyer has any NFL coaching experience, which I very well could be wrong on.  At least EB has been on an NFL sideline for the past several years and has coordinated one of the best offenses the league has seen over the past 3 years.  I would love to see what he could do to develop Lawrence.

Urban has zero NFL experience but he has developed many great offenses. EB will get his shot somewhere else.

I hope so.  I was really hoping for JAX.  That’s a great situation to build that team completely in the way you want around Trevor Lawrence.  A lot of draft capital and cap space.

I am really surprised. Urban is always fighting his health and the stress headaches.  OSU is high pressure but different than the NFL.  In college he almost always had the most talent.  I was sure he was done forever.  I guess competition is just too much of a draw for him.
  • Urban retires within 4 years - I would guess 2 years - citing health reasons.  If he almost stroked out at Florida and then OSU, why is he doing this to himself?
(I'm sure it is a great challenge for him, he's done everything at college level, and a shit ton of money!)

Chargers are the best job available right now.  Except the fact you face my Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes twice a year.  ;)

Yeah chargers are competitive. They don't look like an awful team out there.

I think the chargers are getting daboll
  • I don't know a ton about big boy daboll but I did see that he has coached forever and he worked for both Belichick and Saban.  Not shabby.... obviously Josh Allen and the Chargers qb have some similarities.

He seems like he is really creative and smart with the offensive plays.  The way that them as a whole staff have nurtured Allen the past 3 years would be really appealing to a team who has or about to have a young franchise QB.  The Chargers' GM and Daboll went to the same High School in Buffalo too.

And on the other side, I don't think there are many coaching opportunities that come around that would be as appealing as the Chargers' one.  The only downside is being prisoner in a Division with KC and Mahomes.

A ton of coaching though comes with being a CEO.  Need a personality that the players can trust and also build a good staff around you and delegate wherever you can.  No idea what boxes Daboll checks there.

Doesn’t have the grit nor challenge of NYC. And the NYC/NJ media market is much bigger and tougher. What coach wouldn’t want to be known as the coach that turned the Jets around? Win a superb owl coaching the jets and you become as big as Joe Namath, less the “I want to kiss you.”

Fair enough but if you could pull off turning that team around, toast of the town. More likely the organization chews him up and spits him out.

I agree it's a bigger challenge.  I would have gone Chargers though.  Better talent base and media that isn't insane.
