I thought this was a funny opening to an article about the NFLPA choosing a new leader:
Vince Wilfork is currently unemployed. Bobby Bonilla will be receiving paychecks from the New York Mets until he is 217 years old. The reason for this is that Vince Wilfork couldn't hit a fucking curveball. Or, less obliquely, the reason for this is that the NFL Players Association has done a terrible job of protecting its members' interests.

That's why they call it the NFL.......Not For Long.......league. The Patriots released him to test free agency and if no one signs him or if he wants to return to the Patriots for less money he can and will do so. Besides he can make that money back if the Patriots again go deep into the playoffs instead of a team such as Miami.

I agree, this may not be as bad but could turn into that deal the Redskins did with Haynesworth. Long gone from the league.

^^^^^^^^^^^What a shock indeed. I figured he was a burger and milkshake kind of guy to get that body. He's a FA too with a 10 game suspension looming over him. I hope he saved some money as his career is over.

Frank Gore switching to Colts with what appears to be the exact same offer financially that the Eagles gave him ... reports that he and Andre Johnson agreed to go together.
Usually wouldn't be excited about signing a 31 year old RB, but after watching the Trent Richardson experiment for two years, I'm jumping over the moon. And if Johnson signs, he gets to continue to play in Colts/Texans games where the Texans lose.

Why did he back out of the eagles deal? Seems shady.

Reports are that Johnson and Gore are good friends who played together at the U and wanted to play with each other again. Gore made the deal Sunday. Johnson got cut Monday.
I'm guessing that Johnson prefers to catch footballs tossed by Andrew Luck more then the Foles / Sanchez combo.
If the Eagles make major improvements with the moves that Chip Kelly is making, he will have proven to us he is the football genius he makes himself out to be. According to my magic 8-ball, "my sources say no".
I'm surprised he didn't go after Derek Carr. It would make no sense for the Raiders to trade him ... but it is the Raiders so anything is possible. He could have played a Jedi mind trick and convinced them that Mariota will blossom into a top 3 NFL QB and still be available at the 5th spot in the draft.
Charlie @charliewisco 38s38 seconds ago You guys remember when the Eagles had Nick Foles, Lesean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, & Desean Jackson then they lost all of them? That was awesome
To trade away one of the best RB's in the game and then trade for the human pinata of QBs (who is owed $16.5M this year) ... am I missing something here?

He never actually agreed with Eagles. He visited with Eagles, they offered a contract he couldn't sign and went home. He told his family and friends he was going to sign with the Eagles. One of his family/friends leaked the info and it was reported as a done deal. This is all the medias fault and for Gore having someone in his family/friend that leaked it.
I also saw he changed his mind based on Chip Kelly being too controlling. Plus as a older FA I'm sure seeing the team trade away all of their top performers couldn't make them too attractive.

I am floored by some of these moves. The nfl has officially turned into the nba. Teams don't even keep their studs anymore.
What the fuck are the Eagles thinking? Bradford has pretty much been a bust. Foles is a pretty decent qb. The NFL is going to have a very different look next year.
I don't like chip Kelly from his Oregon days beating my beloved USC teams. That stated I hope his insane moves somehow pay off. Would be like taking a shit in a hat and having it turn into a bouquet of roses on Vday for your best girl. These moves seem to make no sense at all and it would be awesome to see them turn out to be great. Sam Bradford.....that's fucking amazing!

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's turned into the NBA. At least this is all off-season stuff. And none of the trades are multi-team trades or gutting-the-team trades. But I see where you're coming from. Definitely the most NFL trades I've ever seen. The Graham to Seattle one is pretty big.
As for the Foles for Bradford trade, I've never seen a more curious move. I don't like the Eagles but a lot of my friends do and they're all dumbfounded...with good reason. Foles had an amazing season two years ago. Will he ever pull off another 27TD/2INT season? Of course not. Was it a fluke? Sure...to some extent. But at least he showed potential. When have you ever seen ANYTHING from Bradford that could be considered "showing potential"? In fact, for the money he's been payed, you can agrue that Bradford is the biggest bust in NFL history. Yeah Foles was injured last year. But one great year, and one injury-shortened year is light-years better than Bradford's career. I can't imagine the justification for this. If Chip Kelly thinks that all of Foles' success two years ago was based on the "system", he should just go right back to college cause that's a college coach's way of thinking. This isn't the SEC (or whatever) where the Johnny Footballs, Jason Whites, and Tim Tebows of the world can just be plugged into a system and succeed.
In trades, it's good to look at both fanbases' reactions. Rams fans are probably thrilled to be rid of Bradford. And Eagles fans now have him and Sanchez. Yikes.
Can't get too upset about losing Revis when his year one salary in NY is $16 mil and Pats only have $13.6 in cap space. He was out of reach. Thank you for your service, sir. Thank you for the ring.
Bad timing bro. (Never good timing to getting behind the wheel shithoused but really bad timing for his wallet)
It really amazes me how fucking dumb some of these guys are. It's bad enough for your average joe to get a DUI, but for a possible first round pick to go out and do this a month before the draft!?!?!? Unbelievable.
