Not sure as a 49ers fan if I should be excited for the new hire or disappointed. The players love Tomsula and he was their choice as coach so it is a win there. But the signing will cost the team Fangio and losing Tomsula as the d-line coach will also hurt. I really didn't want Gase as I hate when teams hire OC's from teams with legendary QB's with big time play makers around him. The 49ers don't have anyone close to Manning (even decrepit Manning is an improvement over Kap) or the Thomas twins there. While Gase may be a good HC his resume doesn't impress me to be sad he didn't get the gig. Deep down I was hoping for Mcdaniels. While he has Brady he kept the offense running last year when Gronk was out and they had zero weapons. The 4 O-lineman plays last game showed he is imaginative plus he has previous HC experience. Young HC's on their second stop are the ones that have the highest odds of breaking through and becoming very good coaches. Provided they learn from their failures the first time.
I guess it all comes down to who the rest of the coaching staff will be. Hopefully that gets answered soon. Rumor is Chudzinski is the favorite as OC and already have Tarver on board as DC. I assume that means they will go to a 4/3 again as well.

The worst part of the super bowl is knowing there will be no more football until week one. The best part of preseason football is nothing. I hate it. I need a break from fantasy football anyway. I had 13 friggin teams. That reminds me, I have 8 fantasy baseball teams that I need to start prepping for.

My wife's cousin is a total dickbag and is broke...but has enough money to play fucking fan duel or draft kings or one of those sites and the shitbird was rooting for so many players the first weekend that he couldn't properly explain to me who his money was on. I was disgusted and wanted to punch him in his face.
(Perhaps that is always true when I am around him; his is that kind of guy.)
Of those 13, only 4 are money leagues. 8 of them are dynasty leagues. The others are restart leagues. I like the drafts. Most of my teams have relatively similar rosters. I will be cutting back next year. The draft schedules were insane this year.
I put $20 in fan dual this year for the first time. That 20 lasted me about 5 weeks. I mostly played the $2-$5 games. I can see where those sites can cause people to go overboard. Kind of like online poker.

I'm actually taking the Colts this weekend over the Pats. No real reason other than they are surging and the Pats for the last 5 or 6 seasons always seem to lose a game they should have won starting now. I would love to the think the Pack could beat Seattle but I just don't see it. So Luck versus Wilson in the SB.

Seattle looks like the favorite to win it all. Best chance we have had to see a repeat champion since the Pats in 03-04. Great story even if I don't particularly care for them.
I am so tired of hearing about Aaron Rodgers leg. Peyton Manning played with his quad tear for weeks without spilling it in the media. Any of us who watched him knew he was hurt, but he didn't make a big deal of it. Respect, and this is coming from a Patriots fan. Rodgers is the exact opposite. Had they lost to Dallas he had his excuse prepared, planted in the media, and ready to go. Winning just makes him more the hero.
Pats/Colts will be closer than many expect. Past history means nothing and New England is playing without their center. That's huge. The closer the game gets, the more nervous I get.
Still strange a Colts team who I have so little animosity for. The Peyton Manning face and Bill Polian (he of the piped in crowd noise and rule manipulation on the Competition Committee) are both gone. The uniforms are the same but the feelings are different. On the 49ers, Tomsula is meant to bring the power game back per Kawakami....so why would they hire former 49ers OC Marc Trestman? He is a passing guy? Will be very interesting to see how this all plays out.
This weekend I am rooting for both dogs but expect the favorites to win. I would actually like to see New England make it through to play the Hawks....I dont think Indy would have what it takes to beat them.
