Yep. I get why the Colts did it, but no idea why the Browns would trade him away. #3 pick in the draft last year and not like he has been disappointing.

Yeah really. And really strange timing. Why after week 2? 2014 draft pick isn't going to help them this year, but keeping him would've.

If even the Browns are giving up on him then I wouldn't be surprised if there are some other "issues" behind the scenes that they know about. Just pure speculation but getting a first round pick for a RB might not be a bad deal for the Browns if they draft well. New mgmt there so probably cleaning house and rebuilding.

Based on what we saw last year form the Colts, worst case scenario they are giving up a +15 pick in the first round. Most likely a +20 pick. For a work horse of a RB who has proven he can play.

Unless the Browns know he was good friends with Aaron Hernandez or they are hiding some major injury secret, there is no way this is a bad deal for the Colts. And this is the Browns we are talking about. It is not like they have a proven track record for being diabolical upper management geniuses.

I wouldn't be so sure about that draft pick being +20 ;)

they want clowney. they can get a servicable running back with the colts pick
its obvious they have given up on this season already.
  • They want a Qb. You don't dump your best player for the hopes of getting a def lineman. They want whoever they have rated as the top qb.

2 - first, second and third round picks in 14.
    Gets ya Manziel and Clowney...
Michael Lombardi knows what he's doing...sucks for Browns fans who bought Richardson's jersey this year, but this sets up Brownies big time next year. And its Cleveland, seems they've been playing for next year every year for the last few years.

Could be 2 flops, never know. Regardless, 6 picks in first 3 rounds = not shabby. Plus its still early, who knows if Gordon gets dealt.

What value does Gordon have? He's a suspension risk going forward. Plus he has no qb to throw him the ball. They might as well trade Thomas as well. :fp:

Let's see... A young talented fast #1 receiver who is 6-4 and strong...your right, no value there...especially to a team with injuries or no true #1...troubled, yes, but in the right situation, you never know...definetely with a 2nd or 3rd round pick, no?
Its clear Cleve is building towards something.
Thomas is going nowhere, btw. Weeden will be a goner before him, its Hoyer starting Sunday also, not Campbell.
For the record, FINS fan here, but watched Cleve up close week 1. Richardson has barely 100 yards in 2 weeks with over 30 carries. Might not be as lopsided as everyone thinks...
    Who knows?
