Is there anything more worthless than a mock draft? They "hype" for this draft has been way too much...I dont even want to watch the draft now.

I may be going up tomorrow night, one of my clients signed a billion dollar contract with the NFL that kicks in this year (shouldnt be tough to guess who they are) and so they have all sorts of access. I needed to meet with my contact anyway so am trying to leverage it into some access to the stuff tomorrow. Not sure it is going to pan out but it beats sitting around at home waiting for the Kings game to start. :)

Ended up going to Rock Center and meeting with my client, who had 3 VIP passes to the draft....one for himself & two of his buddies he brought with him! :)
Was kind of a wild scene, saw all sorts of players cruising around beforehand.
Bummed the 49ers drafted a safety when they needed a corner or WR. (Maybe he will play corner.)

Manziel will be a bust. Hope I am wrong as he was fun to watch in college but I dont see it translating.

    RIP

Last coach to win a Super Bowl with 100% home grown talent and still the only head coach in history to win 4. Up there with Lombardi and Halas.

US Patent Office cancels "Redskins" trademark. I call dibs on "Honkeys".

I wonder if Indianapolis is next on the chopping block?

Dan's ego could lead him to give the biggest middle finger in the world by changing the name to the Washington Snyders. Half of the talking heads would actually have their heads explode by that announcement, so it may serve society a little good.

If these were still the Joe Gibbs years and the team was performing at a high level, with the franchise held in high regard and carrying a certain mystique, then I could at least understand the argument against changing the name. But under Snyder the entire organization has become a laughing stock. Why not cut bait with the name and start fresh? New name, new colors, new day. Plus you get a spike in merch sales and good will. Where is the downside?

  • They could keep the name and change the logo to a redskin peanut. Then everyone's happy. They could make a killing selling Redskins peanuts at the games.

A lot of of Redskin haters on here. I happen to love native american people
  • Josh Gordon is a train wreck currently...hope he gets his shit together, kid can play some incredible WR and his future train wreck of a QB is going to need it.
The Browns are generating a lot of headlines these days. Would be good for them to generate a few that have to do with winning games this season.

Wow, only a few seasons in the spotlight and I am already over Richard Sherman in a huge way. I love The Pete and nothing else about the Seahawks...but I hope Sherman finds his way to suckville sometime soon.

Part of me likes Sherman. Part of me dislikes him. I do understand the these NFL players have a short window to cash in so they try to make their names off the field as well. I wish he would shut up though with all the "I'm the best" crap.

  • I am doing some work for the 49ers and their new stadium with my company and the exchanges as they race to finish things there reminds me daily on how close the season really is.

    I still loathe Dicky Sherman.

I hear ya....I'm 31 and still get ridiculously excited for the NFL. These next 6 weeks with just baseball are going to be rough...it's especially rough when your team sucks .

38 and I was ready to cancel summer upon seeing the SI fantasy preview on a newsstand over the rainy, dreary washout that was July 4th 2014.

The new 49ers stadium looks pretty nice ... especially compared to the shithole known as candlestick park.

Are the going to change the name to the San Jose 49ers? Oakland is closer to that stadium then San Franciso is.
  • JimmyVJimmyV Posts: 19,163
Interesting. I heard the 49ers new stadium is the first one in California to be built specifically for pro football. All others were built for some other purpose (baseball, Olympics) first.

That would be true. And they were / are all crappy.

If the Oakland A's get a new stadium deal done, it will most likely be built near the new Niners stadium.
